For what it's worth

Edit:
I just compared the 2012 Z06 file to the Z/28 file
The high octane spark table is exactly the same and the modifier table is very, very close in all cells except some in the upper mid range (4800-6000) where it adds slightly less than the Z06
For what it's worth:

"Even the 505-hp 7.0-liter LS7 V-8, borrowed from the previous Corvette Z06, is beefed up with new pistons and connecting rods to withstand the harder duty cycle that comes with the Z/28's extra weight."

Hmm, yes I remember reading that. Mr Radrace, you are usually spot on with your facts and other good info, what do you make of the quote?

If the P/N's match in the book, the Mag got it wrong. It's actually pretty common.

What's a riot is when you get your ride in a magazine article, then read the copy. You spend the next couple months apologizing to people.

Also as I've noted before- Porsche Sport Driving School at Barber Raceway in Leeds (Birmingham), Alabama is superb. This is Porsche's US "home track", and where the Z/28 spanked the Porsche GT3 at the press event in Feb. Gotta love it, I do
Where is the report on that?

The GT3 was faster around that track in the head to head shootout, with less sticky tires even though the Z outcornered the GT3 (which is f'ing crazy).

You are correct on the lap times but I didn't say that was my measure to determine it was spanked. I personally considered it a spanking on a $75k vs $150k car basis, weight basis and a reputation basis.

Furthermore, as we both know 991 GT3's still don't exist in the wild due to the ongoing engine failure quarantine.

If you want to discredit the GT3's tires then you have to have to give credit to the Z/28 for not having rear-wheel steering and a twin-clutch gearbox. Turnabout is only fair play.

I'm just happy to be in the same neighborhood, though the GT3 is unlikely to welcome the loud new neighbors...

Lol!

The .1 and .2 GT3 (analog+stick shift only) folks seems to be healthily intrigued by the Z/28, the 991 GT3 (digital+automatic transmission only) folks...much smaller appreciative percentage.

My local GT3 pals all want to ride in/drive my Z/28

Mmmmk. I'll leave u w ur definition of spanking. Mine actually requires the spanker to be faster than the spankee.
