So, sorry to ask a dumb question but, Is Fred responsible for the COPO Camaro's as well ? He did the COPO Nova and I'd assume the same shop, the COPO Camaro ?
Any idea what the price ticket might be on a car like that ?

Fred Gibb was an "Inventor" with COPO 9738 the 1968 L78 Novas with a special M40 transmission and he was also an "Inventor" with COPO 9560 the ZL1 427ci all aluminum big block Camaro.
He was not directly involved as an "Inventor" with COPO 9561 the L72 Camaro, that would be Don Yenko's claim. The pricing for the 2010 Fred Gibb ZL1 Camaro is still pending. |

I concur about the spoiler. I want a throwback to the 60's spoiler so bad it makes my head hurt. This spoiler and the spoiler that someone came up with when they did that Trans Am mock up were/are the 2 closest I've seen. I think they really help extend that rear quarter body line.

Some more pics of Nancy Gibb's "Fred Gibb Camaro" prototype. One of the original ZL1 COPO 9560 Camaro prototypes was also Black with Gold accents.

This imitation ZL1 will never be anything compared to a 69 ZL1. The 69's had the classic lines and were unknown to most and it had no special badging to say it was a ZL1. In my opinion, associating this or any other 2010 imitator car with the legendary ZL1 name is a disgrace.

Love the Cragar SS throwbacks. Love the rear spoiler, Not diggin the hood, a little rain and the birds will be bathing. Car could sit an inch or two lower. Just my observations.

This is Nancy Gibb's daily driver. She is a school teacher and needs to be able to drive thru all types of weather. Also, Helen Gibb her mother is 88 years young and has a bad hip. The car seems to be the perfect height for her and thus we decided not to lower her car. We did all agree that it would look better.
The next Fred Gibb Camaro we are building will be lowered approx 2''. The hood is a prototype for our molds, we can easily drill drain holes and channel the water away from the hood and engine. Her dad's dealership "Fred Gibb Chevrolet" sold many Hi-Performance cars as well as some of the original L88 Corvettes, so she knows what it will be like to keep the hood clean of snow and/or ice. Nancy tells us the car has been a big hit with the Kids in La Harpe! |

Sorry..I disagree. The Fred Gibb family was very involved in the design of the '69 ZL-1, and that holds true with the 2010. Both cars are awesome in their own ways. I can think of no better way to pay homage to Fred Gibb and the original ZL-1, and no better group to do. ![]() BTW, your user name is YenkoSC, do you own a Yenko(s) or just an "imitator"? ![]() |
