Jeezus what happened to this thread?! Anyway

I dragged my husband went to a local cruise night a few weeks ago because there was a 2010 there. Parked next to a Vette and a few spaces away from a 60s Camaro.
The 2010 was getting a lot of respect.
The owner was no where around, which stunk since I wanted to ask some questions about how s/he thought it handled. Now when I drive by on the way to the train on Wednesday nights I check to see what's parked out there. If she is back I am stopping and dragging the husband out again.

Cruise nights are usually open to all. Not fee to pull into the lot. No judging. No classes. etc. Shows are fee'd, classed and judged. I used to show my 69 Camaro Coupe in the unfinished classes. She not got finished. Now she is a FL car

O M G I live in Newark De.On Kirkwood HWY.Local cruise.Tonight.Huge.My car is at the dealer with a broken output shaft.I am sick.Next year this car isn't gonna get the same response from as many people. But I got celebrity pick byJohn Fitzpatrick at Carlisle. That was a blast.Super Chevy at Maple Grove was a lot of fun.The fact is so many people really like the 2010 camaro. Those who are jerks are jerks about whatever.I really like some mustangs.Actually one of the coolest cars I saw tonight was a 67 I think mustang.I got on my son, because he was talking about some donkers.I don't like them, but to each his own.But I am big on trying not to talk negative. You never know who's listening.

For the record I'd label what I went to a cruise night rather than a show.

Went to a local "Drive & Shine" meet tonight with my ten year old son. We drove up and got out and it was like a drove of people came at the car. The smile on my son face said it all. Dad, "I think our car is a hit", the guys lined up like to ask questions like they were waiting at a kissing both.

Nothing but a lot great car guys coming together and talking "Rides", you can't get more American than that!!!! :flag1:

They're probably venting at the fact that it's even there. When you have a show with a bunch of classic cars and people who have spent countless hours working on these cars to make them faster, they aren't going to be giddy when someone brings over a brand new stock car and expects to steal praise. It's THEIR show, let them have their fun and don't crash their party with a car that does not fit the "old/classic car that has been worked on" mold.

For this reason I will never take my car to a classic show. Let the old cars get their respect and don't try to steal their thunder.

Read the OPs followup, he never said it was a Classic car show. And anyway, I've brought mine to a "Classic" car show - in the background - and only got postive comments and tons of questions. Maybe its the crowd you hang with, but pretty much anyone into cars will be respectful of "what ya brung". That is, if they have any class....

"Steal praise"??? What the heck is that? Didn't know that praise was a limited commodity and assigned to only certain people's cars !?!?!

"Crash their party" - What? I never went to any informal gathering of cars that was by invite only regardless of what was there.

People should loosen up! Enjoy the fact that you have a similar interest - cars! And celebrate the differences in them.

Be inclusionary, not exclusionary....Geeze!

KJS- I agree with you totally.

Who exactly are you talking about when you say "everyone", I guess I would be considered everyone and I'm offended that are putting words in my mouth. I don't feel that way at all.

Who entered their Camaro in a "Classic car show"? I said "car show", I should have said cruise in, not car show. I would not even consider taking my car to a "Classic car show" so don't include me in your "everyone" comment. I don't even understand the basis of your rant.

Have been going to a locak Car show GTG for years here in Hamilton.
It is held at a local K-mart.

Went there a week after picked up the Camaro and was going to park outside the show Section as usual: But was waved in by some one (Was another Camaro5 Member) so we parked next to eack other. Then a clasic Z28 pulled in and parked with us. There was also a New Chalanger there.

Well walking around I picked up a Sense that A few Old School Rodders were not happy to see the New Metal in there Show.

So went back 2 weeks later and the section was roped off with a sigh that said 1988 and older Only.

One of my cars is a Factory Five Roadster and morons always like to make negative comments about it being a kit car, etc but as I always politely explain, I can't afford a $700k original Shelby 427 Cobra so this $60k replica with all new parts top to bottom, front to back, will do for me just fine.
or idiots My 1978 Trans Am came with a 455 and rant 12's stock, I hit 150mph in my hurst olds, that stock 307 was a beast blah blah blah.............sometimes I just want to punch them in the mouth.........but.............don't worry bout the tards if they are to ignorant to realize what a kickass ride you got f***them

Brought my SIM to the New Jersey F-Body Owner's Association http://www.njfboa.org East Coast Nationals today - Car Show in which I participated and Drag Races which were fun to watch (no way I was drag racing even for time/tune in an Automatic).

My Camaro won a trophy as the Best 5th Generation - only it was the only 5th Generation as another 2010 expected didn't show up. Hopefully next year there will be competition.

It was great seeing my car next to a '67 and the rest of the member's rides.
