Yep. Crap, thats how I'm getting mine. The wife started poking asking what I might want for Christmas.

I'm sorry to rain on your parade but that is a slap to her face. She went out of her way to pick out a car for you, automatic or not, you should've welcomed it with open arms, ESPECIALLY no other than from your WIFE. Like it was said before, I'd be disappointed if I were the wife.

Put yourself in her shoes: you searched for something that she might love, you spend days on end even weeks to find the budget and you plan, you present her the surprise, she looks grateful but not complete sold. She offers to get a different version with her own choice. All that time you spent, all that money you pitched in, and she wants a different one. How would you take it? Personally, I would be sad.

Mark my words, she may say that shes grateful that you like it, but deep down inside she is disappointed. Trust me.
