I did not post this to give the OP a pass, I posted it to show all the other points of view.

It is quite evident that the cop changed his position /attitude once he knew he was being taped.

That is awesome!!

There are bad apples in everything including the police department. I know I wouldn't want their job, and give them props for doing the job and their pay, BTW not enough IMO especially in some of our worst city's, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, etc..

Not all but most Cops are no help! They just want to stay out the way and get that paycheck! They always come when they can't do anything because they always show up a hour late!

ummmmm I wouldn't place most Camaro owners in the "Rich Guys" segment. Sounds like a little income envy. And BTW, if 2 cars are speeding the same..we just pull them both over. Twice the money right? and where are those murderers and rapers and burglars gonna strike next?.. maybe I'll consult a psychic. Might get me a promotion. Wow!

These threads always amuse me. People who are pissed because they have to pay for a ticket and officers defending their actions and how tough their job is. While I appreciated the job they do keeping me safe I do not appreciate the position of tax collector they have turned into. The fact is most speed limits are set artificially low and are used as a source of revenue off of those of us who drive in them.

Thank you officers for the tough job you do, but, you're gonna get some flack for enforcing some laws that are just stupid. Have a look at Speed kills your Pocketbook if you really want to understand this position.

Don't need to understand the position.I actually finished removing someone off the road for speeding today.u do my job for a long period of time and u will see people die and every way possible because of speeding. I'm not going to act like I do the exact speed limit. But u have to be responsible to.

When I took one ticket to court (won that btw), the officer made a big point that I was "driving a Camaro with thick red stripes, as some would call them, 'racing stripes' "

Sure the exhaust may have something to do with it, but I'd say a red Camaro is going to draw more attention than a grey one. Let's be honest, it's more eye-catching and probably looks like it is moving faster

So if it simply stupid laws, then why are you wasting time on this site complaining. The cop is hired and paid a salary to enforce THE laws. Not some of them, not the ones you don't think are stupid.

Instead go out and support politicians that support you ideas or better yet, run for office. If 20 over is a "stupid law" and everyone agrees, you should be elected easily.

LEOs do their job. You got caught and as usual, it isn't your fault. It's the officers who drive over the speed limit themselves fault, or it's a stupid law or it's profiling or discrimination. Not really sure you meant you were discriminated against for your car though.

Sorry you got a ticket, but the second you go 1 over, you have to accept the consequences for your actions.
