So how old do I think you are...? I dunno, 42 maybe?

That said, sorry that your car's been keyed. Bad people do like to do that to nice cars, unfortunately. :(
You didn't know that when you posted, you went and looked it up. So I think you know what I mean here. It's bad enough that it happened, but I also have the prospect of somebody with an axe to grind against the world repeating the process.

What I don't need is to be told that I enabled the problem because I didn't get a "house, then a garage, then a nice car. In that order". Maybe you don't understand how that sounds. I should not have the erect a fortress around my car, and even if I did, it still goes to the store- way in the back- to work- away from other cars, etc. My experience is that people will rear-end you on purpose if they are crazy, and that your oh-so-well-cared for classic car will get side-swiped while parked. Those things and more have happened to my cars. You can't keep the car in a garage 24/7 and still use it.

Mine's heading to the body shop as well. Rally stripes are peeling. GM won't cover it under warranty so I'm removing the OEM stripes and getting painted stripes. Also, some jackwad backed into my front bumper and flexed it. Gotta get that fixed too. Factory Collision is getting way too much of my money :(
I didn't see your post Paul.

I can put up a camera, but if I get to park in the same spot twice in two days it's rare. Those big angled spots in front of my unit are like 50/50 now. Sometimes I can get one sometimes I can't. So sometimes I'm across the way. When it happened, I was across the way, parked waaayyy over to the left edge of the left-end spot. And you know, it was either kids being cool or an angry adult, and I looked closer and took some photos. The gouges are too high to be comfortable for a kid, and the one on the bumper shows that somebody was pissed off, the way it goes up into the tail-light. Now I'm thinking it's an adult asshole that lives here and they think that spot is "theirs". The same black SUV is usually parked there but I don't know what unit.

Your car is cursed. Stuff in the road, tree branches falling down, now this. Are you going over the roof with the stripes, or down the bumper? I saw one of the Challengers that are basically the same color as my Camaro, with white stripes, but there was a very thin red border around the stripes which made the stripes really stand out. I wonder if a contrasting color strip would work on IOM too. Probably have to be white given your colors.

When's your car going down to Factory? They might have both our cars at the same time

I'd rather hook up a motion sensor that launches angry hornets. Maybe the vendor section will have one...

Actually, I did... though it's immaterial to the topic as the thought applied regardless of age. It is odd that I make a sound and logical suggestion and you don't like it, but you have not found fault with comments like "shoot the guy that did it." My comment was not trolling, it was just one among many other suggestions made in response to the original post. Honestly, I was just giving a suggestion to reduce the chances of it happening (again). You are correct that you can't keep it in the garage all the time and that it can occur anywhere, store, etc., however... It didn't happen at the store, it happened at night at your residence. Twice. When you have a car in the garage, you don't have to keep it in there 24/7, but when it is in there at least you know that it is safe.

At any rate, I was simply making what I felt was a helpful comment and I'm sorry that the suggestion that you have a home with a garage was offensive in some way. There were other comments about you renting a garage, which is another alternative, but in all fairness... owning the garage beats renting it any day.

Again, sorry that it happened to you.

Hey man.... sorry about that.... It's time to catch the little thugs. Do some research on the laws where you live; self defense laws. It just might be worth paying a fine to give these little thugs some disipline. And get cameras.... holds up in court. Once again, sorry man.

Pardon me, but I don't believe anything you just posted.

I do not believe that you honestly feel that the advice you gave is something you would legitimately offer as a helpful contribution.

I do not believe that you feel advice that requires a time machine is a "logical and sound" course.

I do not believe you look at people's profiles before you post.

I do not believe that you accidentally removed a portion of my quote which would show how I gave you the benefit of the doubt regarding your initial comment.

I do not believe that you actually feel I'm picking on you.

You protest too much and you have used the words "honestly" and "trolling" very freely, despite how I never indicated anything to the contrary. I have treated you exactly as if you had been trying to do something positive, but in a misguided way. Until right now that is. I think you're full of it and you're passing the time by seeing what response you get. That's what you've shown me. I do not believe you're genuine. Previously I thought you just had a bizarre way of helping, but nobody's that obtuse. Now you're asking me to buy a bill of goods. Every instinct I have tells me so. Have a great day but just be aware that I really won't believe anything you say ever. You're asking me to swallow too big a mouthful.

Sorry that you feel that way. I stick to my belief that the best way to protect a nice car is inside a garage. Goodness, several others posted the same thought. Again, sorry about your car.

Well, I have done research on the laws where I live. That's how I am legally able to carry concealed. But that's also how I know the repercussions from starting a fight in a parking lot. You have to be the calm collected responsible adult that does it by the numbers, or the right turns into a revoked privilege. My license forces upon me a responsibility above and beyond what I'd consider a normally reasonable response to many situations, but that's the place I find myself: I'm licensed to carry a thing which can bring deadly force into play and that does and should give pause. Whether or not it is used or the firearm is even present at an altercation can be immaterial: you're a hothead, a danger. In 2014, you have to be very, very careful indeed

I'm an keen observer of many things, among them the way things are presented and why.

Thanks for your concern.

Bummer you can't get the same spot every night. My space in my complex is deeded. Although, that doesn't stop morons from parking in it from time to time

No stripes over the roof. I think that might be a bit much. Basically, going with a black metallic stripe in the same pattern / space as the cheesy OEM vinyl.

Dropping mine off on Monday. They are promising me it will be done by EOD on Thursday. We'll see!

I like the motion detector that releases angry hornets idea. You could call it "Buzz Off"......

When I read this I was like "What...the F ???? They are fixing your car by blowing it up???"

EOD to me means 'Explosive Ordnance Disposal'
