You favorite dog breed..

Sorry to resurrect this, but Moose's return thread prompted me to look through what you guys had talked about recently with breeds, and I couldn't help myself!

I am a huge dog person, and it's tough for me to choose a favorite breed, because when it comes down to personality, it's about the individual moreso than the breed.

But as I'm human, I can't help but show favoritism. My personal favorite breed in the world is Rhodesian Ridgeback. Little is known about this breed, and chances are you have never met one, though you would remember if you did...the unusual hair growing backwards along the spine is pretty obvious! Though not all of the breed HAVE the ridge, by AKC standards they should (ridgeless are not bred to try to maintain the ridge in the line).

They have one of the sweetest dispositions and as a breed (again, I say that loosely) they are extremely intelligent...but also extremely obnoxious at times. They are notorious counter-surfers, sight hounds (if they see a critter, instincts take over and with few exceptions that hound is gone), and royalty in their own minds (they typically seek out a raised platform to sleep/rest...IE-your couch and bed...they do not like being on the floor).
