New York comic con. Forget the area but it doesn't look like the greatest of area. I try to park on the street or in a cramped parking garage where some non-English speaking people have to try my stick shift seven times over to move the car around and bury it in. Not happening.

Wait do those types of alarms exist? If so that would be sick!

OP sorry this happened to you bruh. Hopefully you'll be in another SS in no time!

I watched a guy in Houston steal a car... broad daylight, parking lot of a sports stadium. Smashed a rear window, unloacked the door, entered and had it started in less than 30 seconds. Had my two young kids with me, so I wasn't going to try to play hero. Tried calling the cops, but after 15 hours and four days of waiting on hold and being transferred and so forth, dude was probably already in southern Mexico.

Dublin is also next to Oakland (check out a map) and you were parked in a handicap spot (VERY common place where cars are towed).

Even if a cop drove by and saw your car being towed from a handicap spot, chances are he would not even care. Likewise, if you found them towing your car, they would say you were parked illegally, give you back your car, apologize for the confusion and you would be on your way.

Last year 8,821 vehicles were stolen in Oakland. That's more than 24 vehicles per day, or 169 per week.

If you have any GM vehicle in the East Bay, you should be well aware of the possibility of it being stolen. Careless vehicle owners is a big factor of why these vehicles are being stolen. Most people do not even have wheel locks.

OP if you get the chance to talk to the police, recommend a Camaro sting OP to catch these guys.

I'm not going to hijack this thread, because of respect for the op, but 26 miles is *hardly* next to Oakland. obviously, you're just proving my point about being insensitive.

How long does it take for an insurance company to settle a stolen car claim?

Thumbs up

WOW!! That's bad! Will an aftermarket alarm be better? I'm thinking of getting a Viper alarm.

So sorry to hear that. I've lived in Alameda and Vallejo. I hope your insurance company comes thru in a timely fashion.

OP, Capitol Chevy in San Jose has $5500 ($3500 dealer + $2000 factory) off 2SS Camaros, plus you could use a PO and some good negotiating.

They should have sympathy for your situation and give you a great deal for your loss.

I live in east bay, and I club my steering wheel all day every day. Even infront of my house which is a nice quiet neighborhood

Wheel locks for what ?
They took the all thing , not the wheels !
