Setting up speed traps and or sobriety check points is just a crock of $hit and another way to steal more money, collect taxes, from the working middle class.
But yet people will speed, drink and drive causing them to get a ticket and fine. Then will come here and complain it's a government trap to get money from you. You caused it not the government. If you do not want to give the money up do not speed , drink and drive any thing that against the rules.
You obey the rules there is no tickets. That why I hardly every get a ticket.

Op just contact the district attorney's office in that county and very politely request a lessor violation such as seatbelt or tail light out etc and ask to pay the same amount of the ticket for speeding. Worse case scanerio is you might need to take them or email/fax a copy of your mvr printout (if you have a clean record). It is almost a guranteed win win, they get a conviction and cash, you get zero points.

I have been there before my friend and it does suck. Just DO NOT PLEA GUILTY TO SPEEDING AND TAKE THE HIT!!!!!!, the worse they can say if you dispute it is no and a guilty plea lol. Make them work to give you a conviction. Good luck either way and be careful

We were headed north on I95 between Washington and Baltimore earlier this year and there was a serious accident southbound. The road was closed and the backup for those folks ran for about 10 miles. About 1 mile after the southbound backup ended there was a southbound speed trap with about 4 police cars. All I could think is that they are going to screw over someone who will leave with a ticket and then crawl for the next few hours. Punishment on top of punishment.

I was not in any hurry or screwing around and did not know why at first why I was pulled over BUT did not give the guy a hard time, and ended up with 5mph over speed limit. The funny part is I drive through that area often and I'm the guy in the muscle car getting passed by every car, truck, bus you name it on the road. I am a fast learner.
Yes you have to be especially vigilant in these cars. Let's face it they are a car that stands out from the crowd and they do draw attention to themselves.

Plus add to this that ALL LEOS are human beings and therefore no matter how much their training tries to teach them to keep their emotions out of the equation that just isn't possible 100% of the time. They could have personal issues. Maybe their wife p****d them off before they left for work. Maybe they are jealous and envious that they want a Camaro and can't have one because their wife won't let them What ever the case we do have to watch ourselves in these cars more than if we drove a plain jane Accord.

My dad always used to say if you want to draw attention to yourself don't b***h when the audience shows up!

Seriously pay the ticket. It's gonna be on your record for a few years and you're gonna get a few points.

Don't do it again and it won't be an issue.
Just curious, how does hiring an attorney require you to lie under oath? Advising someone to hire an attorney to represent them in court is actually very good advice. You look much more serious in the eyes of the court when you show up with a professional to advocate your position for you.

When guilt was already established by an Internet post and then trying to claim innocence? Yeah

So why the fines of cash amounts then ? Why couldn't a person bake a pie and give it to a hungry person? Why is it always your wallet ?

But, the thing I I hate the most is the big presence of cops there are on holiday weekends, but I understand why they're there. But really? In the middle of the day? I mean don't you have better things to do then to sit at a bottom of a hill? ...Anyways, now I have probably a $200+ ticket that I have to pay off which is going to be a bitch in itself.

Guilt is proven in a court of law, not on an Internet forum. An attorney can work out a plea deal with the prosecutor, something more favorable to the OP than pleading guilty to the original offense. This is done thousands of times every day in hundreds of courts across America. He would not be claiming innocence as you say. I stand by my original statement.

Plead not guilty and then when the court date comes around keep saying it's inconvenient for you and you have the right to reschedule as many times as you need. Eventually they'll drop it because it's going to cost them resources. I have a few friends that do this all the time and tickets get dropped. They don't always speed but when they know it's a speed trap bullshit they'll fight it tooth and nail. When it is clearly their fault they'll own up to it.

We drive around the southern states for work so we can't always know about the speed changes.

What happened to your cruise control?
My friend w/an SS can attest to this. He got pulled over on his way home after an event a couple weeks ago when we were up there.

Haha, when I first started driving radar was not as common. Either the cops paced you or estimated your speed by sight.

Obviously the real motive here is money not safety. Another reason why I dislike red light cameras and now speed cameras. Just another way of income.
