This is directed at those who have a hissy fit when ever anyone touches your car..... you must go absolutely insane when you have to clean off all those bug hits on the front fascia and windshield!!! Now scratches, dings and dents thats something to get upset about, everything else cleans up nicely. Hell, there is one member who posted here that has in their avatar a picture of themselves leaning on their car with both arms folded and resting on the front fender!

FYI, people are not insured, vehicles are. If your friend lets you drive his car and you crash it, his insurance is paying, not yours. No matter who is driving your car, your insurance pays (unless of course it was a MVA and another driver was at fault)

I'm not sure about other colors but mine being black shows every finger print. My wife took my car the other day and finger prints on the window and door

My 6 year old daughter thinks it's funny to put her hands on my Camaro after I wash it and dry it leaving hand prints on the door panels. I tell her not to do that and she says, Why does your Camaro have to be perfect all the time. lol. Can't get to mad at her.

As much as I love seeing my gal in jeans, I believe I'd keep a small (butt sized) pad in the back seat for her to sit on (if I had leather).

It's irritating but not the end of the world. I've got two little ones so there are always fingerprints somewhere. Even after they help wash it!

Yes, it does. No spangle-pants on my leather. Jeans, plain jeans are okay but those jeans that have a splash of sequins and rhinestones on the pockets are not welcome in my car. I learned my lesson with jean jackets too. Both of mine now have little holes where metal buttons used to be and my drivers seat has one little scar as a result of my "oshit" lapse in awareness while getting in. I got "the look" (are you freakin' kidding??) when I told my guy he couldn't wear his work jeans or boots in my car but when it was time for a ride he was in appropriate attire.

When I was at a show earlier this year, I went to get a bottle of water to sip on and on my way back, I see this 20+ something y/o girl and who I'm assuming was her father (and no, she wasn't particularly attractive lol). As I was walking back, I saw the girl walk right up to my car, open the door, and sit down in the driver seat with her hands on the steering wheel for a few photos.
I'm not confrontational by nature, so I didn't say anything, but it's more because I was just shocked somebody would do that. I just stood there with my mouth agape. I don't know if she thought she was at a dealership lot or what, but I found out that she was doing that with a lot of the cars. Don't get me wrong, if someone asks I ALWAYS allow them to sit in the car and even rev the motor, but to just do that out of the blue? Come on. I guess it's the risk you take by having your doors unlocked and your windows down, but you kinda have to do that to earn a full score at judged shows like the one I was at. |
