Great ending!!

Question... I live in Florida, but I've always wondered if a convertible top means a noticeably colder interior vs a hardtop. You live in MI (REALLY COLD!!), how does it work out for you?

I know your pain..i was driving my husbands brand new 2014 silverado and was rear ended..900 plus miles.. However..it couldnt be totaled because we just purchased it..had to have a new frame and everything.. People should be more careful. Lady who hit me admitted to falling asleep..430pm. Repaired and we got diminished value from her insurance company as well. Rides great. Hope you find the replacement you want. Im afraid to drive my Camaro anywhere.

Glad to see everything worked out in the end. The same thing happened to me, rear ended and totalled my first Camaro. ALL his fault. Thankfully I hadn't gotten my modding meat hooks into it at that point. The guy was in a brand new, tags-still-on, Ford Edge playing cat and mouse with the Camaro on the highway. He didn't even apply the brake before he plowed into me. The replacement I got has a few more bells and few more whistles. I can't complain but sometimes I still do.

Congrats on the replacement AND the upgrade!!! Enjoy and be safe!

Wow, I can't believe they even replaced the frame. Glad to hear you got diminished value though. The insurance company wasn't offering me that, but luckily the car was totalled so it didn't matter.

Yeah, it's cold alright! It was 5 degrees out last time I drove it. To answer your question it's not any noticeably colder than a coupe. It has a great heater and the top is insulated and seals very well. It's probably the warmest car I've had in winter so far. The small cabin probably helps too, there's not much to heat. I drove a Sunbird convertible all through college and even that car wasn't too bad in winter. The heater wasn't the strongest and the top wasn't insulated though. My wife wishes her van heated up half as fast as the Camaro.

I agree that it is worth looking into. $20K for a '14 is sickening. Sorry for your loss. If you can find a good shop or shops that can do both the mechanical and body work you may come out ahead.
