You think it would fit where the HUD controls go on the right side of the steering column? I wish the wire coming out didn't come out of the right side though, or it had a groove in the back of the controller so you could route it behind the controller to come out the left side.

Hey, Angrybird,... (first off, congrats on survivorship!) I bet, if you were handy, the back comes off the display, and you could use a rat tail file and make an exit point on the other side for the cable to be re-routed. I dont have mine yet, but may be trying that myself, if it wont reach my center console....

I don't have HUD so I'm not really familiar with the location of the controls. As kmarshall said, you can probably file a groove on the back to make the wire come out the other side. The wire is pretty small diameter. Or... maybe you can take the back off and just flip it. I already have mine mounted or I'd check it out for you.

Thanks, its on the right side of the column the recessed area between the steering column and the radio, right beside the column. I would rather not modify the housing just in case I need to return it for some reason.

Thanks, will probably figure something out without modifying the housing. That would probably void the warranty on it.

I put mine in the same place, thought about by the HUD but I really could not change the settings on the fly nor did I have a clear view.

I've been running mine for a little over 3 weeks and must say its a great mod. There is plenty of wire to mount it just about anywhere you want it. It shouldn't void your warranty because you aren't changing anything in the ECU, just the signal going to it. It shouldn't put any more strain on your driveline than a full throttle run through the gears, it's just responding faster to your pedal inputs. Even at the SP5 setting you can drive the car in heavy traffic and it reacts just fine.

What I enjoy most about it is the faster throttle blips when rev matching for downshifts. Very little effort needed and instant response.

I wonder if this would make a difference on a ZL1?

Yippee, just got a tracking number, it's in transit 2 day priority mail. Hopefully the weather will clear up and be warmer in a couple days so I can install it and try it out.

Have fun! First drive to work with it in the morning. Can't wait.

It does. A friend of mine has one on his ZL1 and he loves it. He was the one who talked me in to getting one.
