Those wheels are gorgeous! I would love to get those at some point and I completely understand you wanting to keep them on the car at all times. I would too, but as much as I drive my car I would probably start crying when I started noticing the paint chips, etc from road debris.

The beauty of working with Forgeline and tree piece wheels is they are rebuildable. Damage a barrel, we replace it. Need refinishing, they get factory refinished.

Missed you at the RPM event this weekend, was a small crowd this go around. I was looking forward to seeing the new wheels! Going to run the combo of Z/28 and the Forgelines or run the Z/28s for the street?

I check road into 3/4. My best was a 1.43.8 "I'm too comfortable with curbs" after my check ride.

Congrats on moving up to 3/4 - I look forward to running in the same group with you in the GTR next season. If that's all the instructor had to say, that's not bad at all! I think next season my goal will be TT, as long as I can get the right safety equipment and oil cooling setup installed by then.

Currently, my plan is to run slicks on the Forgelines and a more rain-friendly track tire on the Z28 wheels. I like the idea of running the Z28 wheels on the street, but don't want to destroy the side of my car (they stick out a bit). If someone doesn't come out with an aftermarket fender flare option soon, I may just add xpel film to the entire sides of the car and go for it (although so-far I haven't seen any significant damage after track days, so maybe it's ok).
I really like RPM because it's so technical that forces you to connect the turns into sections instead of powering down the straight to make time up. Though it does like to eat tires

Once I got passed traffic in my group there was a TT S2000 running out front that I was focused on catching. I was catching up to him in the exits of corners but he was nailing the entries.

I'll have some video up probably by the weekend. Another 1LE moved up to 3/4 but his pace was way down for what I know that car is capable of so not sure how he'll do in 3/4 next season. A turbo FRS made it into 3/4 then tore half his bumper off. I'd like to shoot for TT but know it won't happen next season, as I'll be deploying again at the end of it. But maybe the season after that!

What are the specs for TT? As the NASA site information seem more restrictive than the cars I see go on track.

I gotcha on the poke, have you seen JPSSs new V3 aero for the front? That would make the fronts have less poke with the frontal flares. Though that doesn't help in saving the side of your car. But xpel should be a good solution for that one day the tires throw something big back at the car.

Paint and road course time are not a good combination. I have resigned myself to view road course rash as a badge of honor and to repaint when it gets really bad.

Agreed, my GTRs lip isn't in the best shape but it shows I drive her like she's meant to be driven.

We can always try to keep the car looking nice, but agreed. I don't go to the extent to blue tape the whole front bumper. I'll just repaint when it's bad bad

Did you get plastic or carbon fiber splash guards?

Jealous!

I'm in the same boat but using race ramps and cribs. My spare bedroom is nothing but car parts and wheels.

Not sure what you are thinking for a gauge pod, but I have been pretty happy with the baron concepts pod. They have a 2 or 3 pod model. The only complaint I have is vibration noise in daily driving, but I am planning on putting a small amount of dynamat in it to deal with that.

That's a really nice one too and I hadn't seen that one before. Hopefully it isn't distracting!
