I wonder if that means the black stripes will now be painted on, or if they're still going to be the vinyl kits?!

Nevermind, googled it and found it. They're just the splash guards we've already seen

they would have to be pretty crazy to discontinue the RS package.

I'm now double glad I got my 2SS/RS allready. I wouldn't mind having the park assist option but not the rear bar cover with a bunch of "buttons" running across the back.
I bet G.M. thought they would sell a larger number of v/6 Camaros. They may be up to their ears in 6's and not enough v/8's.
Camaros with the chiklets and missing park assist may become the new 1st series Camaros in a few years.

So if I want my Camaro by July of 2010, when do I need to place my order? And I want a SS model with the RS package.

Beginning of April to be safe, may not take as long by next year though.

I wish people knew when exactly to place an order with what dealer. That would make things a lot easier. But with the whole dealer allocation system and now the added on ordering constraints, it's anyone's guess.

However, you can make a slightly educated guess. If a dealer has say 12 allocations. Currently mostly enthusiasts are ordering Camaros, and most enthusiasts want V8s. So say this year 8/10 Camaros sold is the V8. GM apparently wants to do a 40-60% allocation system depending upon the week. So lets say GM wants it to be 5/10 sold is the V8. From 8/10, that's a 38% decrease in SS sales. So You can assume that you'd have to wait 38% longer on average to get an allocation for an SS. That's not really too bad. Just hope your dealer doesn't have a backlog of orders.

So back to the dealer with 12 allocations, instead of waiting on average 1.25 months for an SS (dealer orders 9.6 SS on average and 2.4 LT/LS per year) you'd have to wait 2 months on average assuming the dealer had no backlog of orders.

So my SS without the backup noise maker will make it even more rare. We will all have a predated model order change car. (Pre-Aug 27 2009)

Good for us....

This is the biggest pain in the a--. Now I ordered june8th, my dealer said I today that my order will be picked up 9/3 and have a TPW of 9/21, will my 2ss have the backup sensor or not. Really doesn't matter, it's not a deal breaker, I would just like to cut through the bs and know the right answer, does anyone know?????

If it is a "sold" order which I presume it is (if you placed the order) then it will not have the sensors since it would increase the price over what you agreed to. If it is a order for the dealers stock then it will have the sensors because the dealer will be able to adjust the pruice when he sells it. I believe that if your order is not to 3000 then he can add the item and you would get the sensors.
