Yeah Chevy's key recall is pretty horrible. It took more than 10 people dying to make the change and they knew about the problem in 2005. I think it might have been more deaths, but it was at least 50 crashes.

Personally i think the Hellcat is an awesome car! So is the last gen GT500, but i own an 87 Grand National and a 68 GS400...my mother had an Iroc Z28 and a 68 Chevelle. My father had 2 Trans Ams, a 71 Camaro and a Riviera. Not that i hate any of the other brands, i just love GM's and genuinely believe my ZL1 is the best car for the money out right now. Funny how i never see or hear about any disdain or ridicule towards any of these foreign brands out there. I have still a pos BMW 750i sitting in my driveway that falls apart every time the wind blows. Maybe a few more American cars bought back in the 70s and 80s would have lead to higher quality in the American auto industry from the 80s to 00s. No matter what recalls they may have i wil take a ZL1, GT500 or Hellcat over any MB, BMW, Porsche, Audi, or Nissan!

Bottom line?
Don't take for granted any offer any brand's attempt to satiate the need for speed.
.......and Money.
For me, the Hellcat is like the Dallas Cowboys. I don't hate the car. I hate its owners.

I paid $46,000 for my brand new 2014 Recaro seated ZL1. GM gave us huge discounts in Jan. while Dodge dealers were raping there customers. Let's see a $46,000 dodge come near my car.

Demand for Hellcats has swamped supply.

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/...got-suspended/

A month or so ago you could buy a ZL1 for 20% off.

Does that mean the Hellcat is better? No.

Does that mean people are loving the Hellcat? Yes.

Some of you sound totally butt hurt that the ZL1 is no longer the center of attention. Get over it... as time goes by it's only going to get worse.

I can't believe people are being slammed for loving a ZL1 on a ZL1 forum.

So now we are using the I paid x$$ amount for my car excuses? This thread is really sad to see how a select few are so brand loyal and blind to anything out there they come up with the same sad ricer logic I've heard since the early days of the LS1 motor, we;; my car can turn better, my car is cheaper, my car is more reliable, blah blah blah. We're happy you got your car at a 20% off fire sale but don't act like Dodge dealers are the only dealers who have raped people on new cars that are in demand, they all try that mess. A $39k Scat pack Challenger wouldn't be too far behind your car and the top speed is almost the same. Using the I paid this much for my car excuse just makes you sound like every rice that ever lived. I for one love the Hellcats, Mustangs, and Camaro's, i think they are all fantastic cars and i have owned GM's, Fords, and Dodge's and with the exception of my Cobalt SS most have been very reliable. Cobalt SS was the worst built car I have ever owned! It was still fun to drive though!

I saw my first fat cat from hell in public the other day, I had to look several times. It looked like every other challenger. And the tires were really skinny.

Within 25 miles of me there are 28 Hell cats in stock and 42 Scats...those models listed in a link posted earlier. I don't know if the demand and lack of stock as stated is a regional issue.

I also visited the Dodge dealer on my way home...no addendum sticker on the car. Both were in the 64 - 65 range.

I agree with C5 members here that say the high demand for the Hell cat is great news for us Camaro guys. It is great news. This high demand for a competitior keeps GM on its toes with performance, research, improvements and pricing with the Gen6.

Ya never know...GM just may consider mating a supercharged LS7 in a Gen6 ZL1...wink wink.

It doesn't matter the 6th Gen ZL1 will send the fat cat to the litter box.

It's fine to love the ZL1. There are plenty of reasons to love it.

Where things start to sound whiney, though, is when ZL1 love leads to petty sniping and the denial of the obvious.

Here is the obvious - the Hellcat is a f*^king awesome car. It may not be to your taste, but nothing pleases everybody.

Can it do everything well? No. Might it fall apart in five years? Maybe, but I doubt it. Are people paying too much for it? I certainly think so.

But all that is beside the point. It is a f*^king awesome car... everybody knows it... and to deny it is awesome makes a person look kind of silly. Dodge set out to make a street brawler like the world has never seen before and hit it out of the park. They even surprised themselves.

So just admit that the Hellcat is awesome... that it absolutely nailed the segment it was aiming for... but that you prefer the better all around versatility of the ZL1.

Awesomeness is not a zero sum game. Both cars can be awesome. That the Hellcat is awesome doesn't make the ZL1 less so.

2010 SS.

I went from top of the food chain to somewhere in the middle. I could be butt hurt, but I'm not. I still love my car even while recognizing that there are now better ones out there.
