Well the service writer called me yesterday about 5 and said my car was done. I went over this morning to get it and he tells me GM is not going to replace anymore superchargers on the ZL1 because I got the last one they had! Yea sure! Anyway they sent a guy to go get it and I walk around it and look and all is good! Thank goodness! I get in it and turn out of the service bay and the rear end starts making the most loud grinding noise you can imagine so I just back up into the service bay and tell him to get in with me. We pull out and he hears the noise and says woa! I thought what else is going to happen? So I left it there for them to fix that now. Hope I can get out of there this next time ok.

I just got a call from the service tech on my car about the rear axle making all of the noise. He has contacted GM and they are having him change the fluid out and doing the figure eights etc. He said so far it has not corrected the noise. He is changing the fluid out again and repeating everything they told him to do then he said he was contacting GM if that did not fix it. I will update as soon as he gets back to me. First the supercharger and this. I hope that is all that has to be fixed.

The turning rearend noise is more of a moaning/howling noise than grinding. Sounds like something else.

He said they could not find any pieces of metal in it but something was wrong with it. He said he was going to do the oil change and cool down or what ever GM said to do and he would get back in touch with me by noon tomorrow.

That act does not work, Its up to interpretation of aftermarket part. If you are replacing a stock part with an aftermarket part that is designed to replace that part within the engineering standards, that act applies. Example, if you do not like delco oil filters and you want fram filters. That cannot void the warranty.
If you are putting on parts from an aftermarket manufacturer that is designed to operate outside the engineered standards and change the parameters of what the engine was designed to do. Chevy can void your warranty. Example You do not like the supercharger the car was designed for. and you put a bigger one on. VOID. This was discussed in the Auto Mag's at length years ago.

UPDATE The service guy just called and he said they did everything GM told them to do about the rearend noise and it did not fix it. So now they are ordering a complete rear axel assembly. I will tell you I am really proud of GM standing behind their products and taking care of all of these repairs on my car. I have always been a GM buyer even back in the days when they put that lousy 305 motor in the pickups and they would not run fast enough to make dust but I stuck with them. They have came along ways and it shows with customer satisfaction and there products. Thanks to all at GM and keep up the good work.
