I know things may be different this coming year for production but....like said they are slowing the production of the SS so it may take a little longer to get one of them. Mine was ordered 1/30/09 we took delivery 8/7/09, almost then end of summer....but since I live in Florida it is driving weather year round....except for when it rains.

OK. I agree with point #2 only. Let me explain. Whether you buy the car this year or next year, the car is going to sit and you're still going to be making payments on it come winter time or rainy days.
(Take it from me. My car sits ALL YEAR long and I made the payments on it while it did. I think I put 10 miles on it this year!?!? lol)
But, it's personal preference. GOOD LUCK!!
My point exactly!!!! It's not going to rain or snow everyday. Just my .02 cents!!!

I almost wish there was plastic that was along the entire bottom of these cars. That may save them.

To be honest, I've never had an issue during the winter... You just need to do some extra work keeping it clean. I would go to the self car wash weekly or whenever snow and salt needed to be cleaned off. All you need to do is keep drain holes clear, and undercarriage clean ...

You do realize winter comes every year at about the same time?!? If you wait til next year to order it, come the winter months it will likely be garaged then too, and you will still have to make payments. Why not at least get the car, have it, and be done with the order process, and be a proud owner. Put the car away for the winter (go out and look at it), when next year gets here , be a proud owner that can enjoy his/her car at the beginning of spring?
I am sorry I feel for you but don't understand the logic....

Cancelled my order too. Kinda glad I did. There's actually more and more camaros on lots these days so I can change my mind if I need to. That being said, the CTS-V coupe is looking better and better every day, and that'll be out next spring. I'm giving it a good hard look! :-)

Dealer issues

why on earth would a dealer postpone an order or cause it to be drawn out, makes no sence... Whats in it for them to do that?

I do agree that waiting could backfire on you, some dealers are trying to charge around 40k for a vehicle at 33k MSRP. With that said, seing a 2SS/RS at around 45k next year could very well happen... "They now know the public wants their car!"....

I would have waited for the car, it is well worth it, I ordered mine on April 18th and it arrived on August 6th, and i live in RI with the crappy winters, so I figure mine will only be coming out of the garage for another month or so, but when you do get yours next year your going to love it, the car is absolutely awesome, good luck.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I did not realize I was going to have so many divided opinions. I just thought I would share my status with everyone. One way or another I will have one in spring. Trust me, I beat myself up over this decision for weeks. In the end I had to go with the choice that gave me more peace.

First of, I'm not picking on you. You live in Florida, correct?!? How much snow do you guys get during the winter time? Don't forget, during the winter months, sometimes you CANNOT go to the self car wash because it's like 0-20 degrees outside and you will do more damage than good. Plus, I can only imagine how this car will handle like in the snow.
(Like I said, I'm not picking on you. You may have lived in an area where it did snow and drove your car during that time. I don't know?)

That sucks man. But hey at least you don't have to wait as long as I do. I still got a year and a half to go.
