Yikes... Seriously no interest on this car? Everyone I talk to says my price is very fair... what gives?

It's the anticipation of the ZL1 and 1LE prices and performance data. I think
I love this car, I told you that I was planning on stopping by, but bought the wife a Impala LTZ while on vacation in Fla.

So I was sent here by a potential buyer (who's looking more at the gen6s than this one) so take everything I say as helpful, but also with a bit of skepticism. This is the internet after all.
Quote:
A) Everyone knows that if they hold out, the new gen6s will come down. B) Most people here would want a SS so they can turbo/supercharge it themselves. (Think procharger vs the LSA blower) If you want to see action on it, drop the price by ~8k or more. 8500 miles is damn low for a car like this, so don't go too much lower. I mean take a look at this http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=428965 guy has quite a lot more miles than you, but is charging a lot less, and he still hasn't found a buyer. Gotta disagree with you here man. I love the look of the new gen6s. Actually, I hate the 14-15 gen5s changes when compared to the 13. Only good change was the color HUD. But thats my opinion. |

Keep in mind it's still early spring, and most of us buyers are waiting to see where the fair market value is going before making the summer purchase. A cars worth depends on many factors, most importantly being what someone is willing to spend Last edited by zags; 03-17-2016 at 05:11 PM. Reason: update |

I would suggest you try Ebay. I sold mine on there. This forum is great but limited audience. Or better yet keep it, because as soon as it's gone you will miss it. It happened to me when I sold my SS, now I'm in a ZL1. Should have just kept my SS, took a big hit if I hadn't gotten a smoking deal on the ZL1. Don't listen to the gen6 comments, it's just a detractor. If someone really wants a gen5 Z, they will go after it. Price is everything though and you just need the right buyer, coming into spring so be patient and enjoy it while you have it. just my 2 cents. GLWS.

Really appreciate the confidence booster. If my price was crazy I'd drop it, but I think the right person will share my opinion on it's value.

So I'm your target audience, and here are my thoughts:
A car is only worth what someone is wiling to pay for it, and you have yet to find someone who is willing to pay what you think it's worth based on the comparable sales, how you've cared for it, etc. You are probably stuck b/c of the Gen6 coming out, and regardless of what you think of it, there are many of us who are/were in the market for a '14/'15 ZL1 who are now waiting to see the Gen6. Yes, there is a measurable price difference, but I know I am all over the range (looking at Corvettes as well as ZL1s). I think you car is worth your asking price. I'd pay a premium for a babied car, not a huge premium but the bottom line is I think your car is reasonably priced. I think the right buyer for you has not yet seen this, or it's just not the right time. I'd widen the "search" by using eBay as someone else mentioned, other forums etc. Or just sit tight, I'm sure there are others like me that are interested but not reaching out because we'd just be kicking tires for now. If you really want to unload it, you'll have to drop the price... you can try dropping 1,000 at a time, but I can tell you you'd probably have a buyer within days if you went down 3-4k. Selfishly, I hope you don't sell it and when I'm ready to buy it's still available! It's a beautiful car, GLWS! Chris |
