I don't think I am ever upgrading to a 6th gen. That is, of course, if I had to give up my 5th gen to get one.

The 5th gen Camaro is a modern day classic...or a modern day retro-inspired classic. There was no way GM could've have improved on the 5th gen design unless they went to a 2nd gen retro design. Now, that would have been a looker. Sort of like a modern day classic Ferrari or something.

Unfortunately for me, the 6th gen has a lot of design details that I don't like. The performance is there, but the design is not quite. It is a lot faster and lighter which is a huge improvement, but the overall design leaves a lot to be desired when compared to the 5th gen. In my mind, I think GM should have taken a risk and went into a totally new design direction for the 6th gen, something along the lines of retro 2nd gen.

I'm so happy with my car and I don't consider the 6th Gen an upgrade.

The look of the Camaro went downhill in 2014 and went even further down with the 6th gen.

I'll see plenty of them here in the Bay Area soon enough (6th Gens) because a lot of people here make a ton of money. I make a fraction of what they make only because of poor choices! Hopefully one day I'll be driving a premium package muscle car.

:::Does anyone else here think it would be wise to just buy a pre-used 5th Generation 2014-15 Camaro SS over the new 6th Gen? What about "LEASING" the 6th Gen? Anyone have any advice?
You can save a lot of money for one and tons of proven aftermarket stuff already in place. To me, if you only plan on keeping the car for a couple of years, I would consider a lease. But, you also have to look at the miles that you drive. You don't want to go over the millage when you have to turn in or buy the car.

Not Upgrading sh*t unless it's a ZL1 6th Gen.

I'm actually kind of hoping that the arrival of the 6th Gen will result in more 5th Gens hitting the market...because I'm in need of one lol

Everything I read says I should want one but the more I think about it the more I want to keep the one I have. not liking the smaller size!

I wouldn't consider it an upgrade. I have the Camaro that I wanted.
Might buy a 6cyl as a DD, but that's about it.

Incidentally, EWade, you might have wished for a 16, but you bought the better-looking car to my eye.
Thank you!
Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my 15 LS, but I did have my heart set on a 16 with the 2.0 Turbo and manual 6 speed. But the salesman was saying they may not see the 2.0 Turbo models come out till Spring, and convinced me into getting the one I'm driving with the rebates and discounts offered. I'll be enjoying this one for years.

I just bought a new 2015 2SS/RS after looking at the Gen 6. I will watch the car evolve for a few years and trade up if they excite me then. As of now other than the power plant and drive train I'm not sure this is an upgrade. Just different. We may find in a few years that the Gen 5's were really special. [ Not to be confused with valuable].

"upgrading" I absolutely hate the way the 6th gens look. To each their own... but I sure as hell won't be "upgrading" my 5th gen.
