I don't have the luxury to "avoid" the freeways. And yes mine is my daily driver....365 days a year. Has some chips...yes I can see them. BUT every single day someone compliments me on my gorgeous car.

I have a clear bra for a reason. I am cruising every highway/freeway without any worries. I'm in Indy, driven to TX, GA, NC coast (multiple times), MI, LA...no rock chips in the paint.
I know (and accept) people that just drive a few hundred miles a year. It's their car, they paid for it, and can drive it when they want. But me, if I have a chance to drive it, especially on long trips, I'm going. I have never had a vehicle that is so comfortable to take on long trips. I purchased mine to drive and enjoy as much as I can. |

Every major ding my cars have ever received happened in the local grocery store parking lot.
It you're incapable of driving on the freeway or it scares you, then by all means, stay off of it. |

Funny - I was like this when I first got my car. The Vineyards out East on Long Island all have rocky driveways and I was always worried about kicking up rocks in the gills. So I would never drive my Camaro out that way. Its a really nice drive once you get past the traffic for the outlets.
Then I thought wait - if I want to keep this car for 30 years...I would be close to 70. The car will need a paint job by then anyway. So what the hell...been driving to the Vineyards since and enjoying the ride with my wife. At some point you have to enjoy the car...cant take it with you!

I guess I fall in the middle. My car is not a DD I have a company truck for that. It is garaged during the winter as it is harsh where I live. I figure either this week or next it will start to come back out. I do drive on the freeway if that is the best route to take and my car hasn't shown any ill effects from that so far. I did have a windshield replaced due a rock hit but it was on a regular sideroad that it happened on.
My car was damaged once when I forgot I had parked beside a median and then drove out over it lol as I was apparently thinking with the wrong head that night! But its fixed and it is fine and stuff happens. I am very picky about where its parked though as parking lots are the worst place for damage I've found. To each their own my friends. And by the way, no delusions of it making me rich one day.

Guess I'm just as bad since I don't drive mine in the rain. But I have 2 other nice cars and a Harley; I try to spread the miles out across 'em.

I've gone thru 1 windshield already at 6k miles. The windshields are cheap and the paint is cheap. I'm still going to blow down the highway. All damage can be fixed, these cars are about the thrill.

I have a base model as well and took it out on the interstate less than an hour after buying it...it's meant to be driven.
