I've done that. I figure, if the top was up, I'd have the air on anyway, so why not have the best of both worlds?

Try West Texas in the summer... cattle farms... yowza!

But nothing makes up for like Blue Bonnets and Indian Paint Brushes blooming in the Texas Hill Country...

Driving a 5th Gen. Camaro Convertible is not just "driving a Camaro", but a lifestyle! Welcome to the "'vert life"!

I had an opportunity to ask Al Oppenheiser about the differences between coupe and convertible and he proudly responded that because the car was designed from inception to be a convertible, the convertible chassis was so rigid as to allow the exact same suspension as the standard coupe (typically they are dramatically softened to accommodate chassis flex). However, as noted in earlier posts, there is added bracing. I discovered while researching exhaust mods that one of the braces interferes with aftermarket 3" midpipes. ARH makes a much stronger chromoly brace that allows a 3" pipe and improves rigidity.

In any event, the cornering limits of the stock convertible are high enough that they are very difficult to explore on the street.

first time was a little weird. like you are on full display.
sitting at stop lights in 95º heat isn't any fun.
a lot safer than a Jeep with the top and doors off.
lastly - NO BLIND SPOTS

I had an 86 z28 years ago with t tops and even though I enjoyed that a bunch I always lusted for a vert. I sold that car in 04 when my kids were born and swore if I ever bought another sports car it would be a convertible. Fast forward to February of 2015 when in Palm beach Cali for meetings a friend and I rented a red stingray vert and after that I had the fever. So July 25 of last year I purchased the car you see in my sig.

The 3rd generation Camaro is among the most beautiful convertibles GM ever produced.

Thanks! They are the Coverking Neoprene. Comfortable and easy to keep clean. This car handles/corners like nobody's business. Try as I may it never gets squirrely and I'll get on it pretty good on the on/off ramps! WOW!

(I was debating a yellow steering wheel cover here and photo shopped it to see if I liked top or sides yellow. I passed)!
