I'm interesting in purchasing this kit, but I'm not sure what's going to be involved for installation.
hmmm... yep, I can see where "Easy, direct bolt-on installation" might lead you to think that the stock mufflers were just bolted on...

You do need to actually cut off the stock mufflers:

Thanks for point this out!

I did mine this afternoon! I'm happy! The sound is subtle when your cruising but it really starts to sing when you get on it!

No real drone to it... it is a bit "bubbly" when you decelerate. It does take a few miles for the ECU to relearn the flow rates though.

I just took a short test drive (20 miles) and it got better with each one.... it even grabbed the attention of a Mustang GT driver. No, I didn't take him on.... Might give him a run in the twisties though!

All in all, well worth the "price of admission"! Sounds like a proper sports car now (albeit still "just a 6")!

Just installed them on my son's 2LT. Did it using just a hacksaw (did work up a sweat but no too bad). 3 1/2" tips fit the v6 diffuser perfectly. The sound is great! Needless to say, he is thrilled! Highly recommended!

I should have waited. I installed the GMPP exhaust before scriming was done with his experiment. I'm happy with the Borla produced exhaust but could have saved around $350 with his setup with the same or better results.

Great set up John and thanks for sharing.

that is what I tell everyone looking to spend $1300 on a catback system.

Save $800 and get good sound with the setup from MRT.

Is anybody willing to post some post-installation pics of their finished kit install?

How much would you expect your local mom and pop shop charge for installation on this kit?

$50!!?? I placed my order late last night and this morning I called MRT and asked if I could drive down there to get it installed rather than wait for shipping. First, they said due to extraordinary demand, they're on backorder until Monday. Second, I asked how much they'd be charging me for labor... The rep on the phone said $200!

I decided to go ahead with shipping and will try to find a local shop to do the labor.

What's gives?

It's a new item for MRT... and I'm thinking all the orders to this point have been shipped, so I'm guessing the rep hadn't had to quote an install yet...

I will get a hold of Scott tomorrow and make sure the actual install price is set and all the sales reps are aware of the install price...

Ok... double checked my previous thread... Scott said about $50... but yeah, definitely should not have been $200... I'll make sure this gets straightened out... Sorry about this...

Its all good scrming - everybody is human after all.

Still amazed at how great this setup sounds. But I also still think it would sound better with a bit louder of a resonator in the stock location. The cherrybomb setup thread made me think about combining this with two 9 inch glasspacks instead of the stock resonators.
- X

P.S. - And I've been eyeing those JBA shorties as well.

Yeah... before I fiddle with the stock resonators I want to add a CAI and possibly the JBAs...
