Cross Link Poly Yellow Jacket Update

We have the first production unit on our Camaro. It runs like a bee stung cat, and has exactly perfect fuel trims during closed loop.

We guarantee that this intake will be the best on the market. Prettiest is a matter of taste. Carbon Fiber is my choice, but we would rather not sell them due to the extreme amount of labor that goes into each unit.

There were a couple of minor mold imperfections (like no shot peening for texture) and one screw hole for the MAF that was positioned wrong, that will be fixed next week.

We are about 1 week away from full production now.

We will have a group purchase as soon as the first production Yellow Jackets become reality. For now, there is my unit, on the car, not worthy of a picture since it was done with Z06 red plastic and no texture.

Of course I would say this, but the car feels like 5 more HP and torque over our Carbon Fiber unit. Maybe it is getting the air fuel ratio dead nuts on without tuning, but I had guessed 15 RWHP 12 lbs ft on the carbon fiber unit and it dynoed at 14/11 on the stock Camaro LS3. My butt dyno still works pretty well.

Stay tuned for more.

C6Z06 Yellow Jacket Heritage

Here is what we do for the Corvette C6Z06 called the Yellow Jacket Package:

This could be done for the Camaro as well:

Put it on the dyno and picked up over 34 hp, from stock air box with cam and AR Headers; 455.42 hp to the rear wheels.

Jim had recommended sweeping the intire MAF code by 116% because it would flow 16% more than than stock. I already had a tune for the cam
and stock airbox which made 421 hp and the extra 16% was right on.

I should caution that I ordered the oversized MAF version with the 102mm MAF and larger tube because I have a compcam 281LRR HR13 with
231/247 duration. This is a tune only intake because over sized. I did not test any other intake and the large increase was probably partly caused
by the stock air box starving the cam.

They also offer the non-tune version with standard size MAF. But this one is great for cams or blowers. I will be adding ported throttle body
and ported intake next.

A copy of the dyno graph is attached with under the hood picture. We let off at 6,500 RPM, before it hit the rev limiter, on the first pull.

I love this intake and the service. Jim even sent two versions of the filter because they changed the picture after I ordered.
Here is a Hi-Res pic of our completed carbon fiber Yellow Jacket, without the Halltech Hornet MAF;

We would have to redesign the mold completely, which is not possible right now.

First pics:

First production unit. Still need to shot peen the mold to get the same texture as the faux intake manifold in the background:

Just got another dyno in tonight from Nickey Chicago. Our intake bumped their Maggie Camaro 22 HP!

One more mold change to get the same texture as the faux intake manifold in the background. Will be finished tomorrow. That way our setup will look OEM.

14 to 34 HP depending on the engine mods. 14 RWHP is bolted on to stock, 34 gain is where there are headers and cam. The 34 is the INCREASE with our Yellow Jacket over the stock GM Camaro induction system, not the increase from the headers and cam.

Nickey Chicago has 6 Carbon Fiber Yellow Jackets on order for their show in Rosemont IL.

Here is what they said about our intake:

Quote:
"This is a very high quality product which actually works as it was designed to. No BS, just the real deal and I have to mention the great tech support which comes along as with the purchase.
We had a 22 peak hp increase over the stock air box on a Super Charger with headers (base Magnuson set up) and a conservative drive your car every day tune. We were expecting 15-16 rwhp and got 22." Stefano of Nickey Chicago
This from Rick in Appleton WI:

I picked up my Camaro today from Dan & Bruce from MPI (Motion Products Inc.)They are Located in Neenah WI which is about 5 miles from Appleton WI. Mine is the Camaro that you show the Dyno results on & like the numbers show your Halltech's Yellow Jacket CF102 Did the trick, picking up 13.4 RWHP & 22.3 lb ft say it all over The Hennessey CAI.
It is a bolt on Package that looks like everything fell together perfect for Fit & Horse Power ! Your Halltech Yellow Jacket CF102 in the Carbon Fiber The American Racing Headers & Cats the the awesome looking MBRP
304 Polished stainless Exhaust with the Square tips all Look Great, & better yet brought the Camaro up a couple notches, not to mention Your Carbon Fiber Yellow Jacket Looks better Than the pictures Top Quality, You Must be Proud of what you came out with! To bad it almost time to park for the winter. Thanks alot!" Rick

Without the texturing, every little scratch shows up.

Thanks,

Hi Jim, I still haven't received the heat shield and smaller filter yet but maybe it will get here this week. I saw you posted comments on my install with the MAGGIE setup and all my other mods and here is the dyno graph throughout the entire RPM range for an astounding 627hp and 655tq at rear wheels. Heads and ZEX NO2 on the way and a more aggressive cam as well should put me at around 850hp. Enjoy the numbers on dyno graph. This Halltech intake is unreal how awesome it looks and it performs. I get comments on it everytime somebody sees it.

Just tuned our Camaro tonight, just to see how it responds to Halltech tuning The Yellow Jacket requires no tuning for the 14/11 gains over stock, but we have seen 6 more RWHP with tuning, so why not???

Oh the warranty? Who cares?

Calibrations modified:

CAGS off. No more skip shift
COTP off. Cat Over Temp fuel enrichment turned off for more consistent air fuel ratios.
Air Fuel ratio in Open Loop modified to 12.6:1 commanded air fuel.
MAF code: No changes necessary with the Yellow Jacket
Top Speed Limiter: Off
IVT Gain: modified
High Octane timing: Clone of the Corvette LS3 High Octane timing, plus 3 degrees on the top.
Low Octane timing: Clone of the Corvette LS3 High Octane timing, no advance beyond stock High Octane table. This makes it impossible for the ECM to delegate the timing into Low Octane Limp Mode due to knock sensor activity.
Torque Management: Turned off timing retard, and other torque restrictive activity.
Several other minor tweaks that make a big difference in driveability and torque down low.

We have tried the ZR1 timing back in October, and the Z06 timing; both are too aggressive for the LS3 Camaro and its extra heft.

Jim

Jim I didn't know you could get ZEX kit. I want the black out kit with the big bottle, purge system, bottle pressure guage, bottle warmer and anything else I might need that I forgot to mention. Please put something together for me price wise and I will order it from you if it is comparable to other prices I have gotten. Thanks.
