The audiophile stuff is a cult.
Sure!

Look fellas, I don't mean to get off topic. But I feel I must speak out because while the initial topic may be different, the issue behind the topic is no different than what we do with our Camaros. People laugh at us when we modify our cars by adding a CAI or upgrading this part or that. Now we KNOW it makes a difference because we DRIVE the cars. But to someone from the outside looking in driving their Honda, they think we are nuts. Wasting money. SAME THING WITH HOME AUDIO. How can someone tell me I'm basically delusional with my audio hobby when the same basic hostility is looked upon toward the car hobby by some people as well. Unless you actually own a Camaro, OR GOOD VINYL EQUIPMENT, you can't possibly know the differences or advantages.

Just purchased a 2015 with the Boston Acoustic sound system.
Over all the sounds system is adequate.
Hi's and mid's are great!

My gripe is the low's. The rear 6x9 speakers distort at half volume.
So with that said my plans are to omit the crappy 6x9's and replace them with a JL Audio 10W6v3-D4. (I have one laying around)

Will the factory amp be able to drive the 10W6?

Thoughts?

Samman11 I totally agree with you. Remember the audiophile community is tiny. Few people have heard true high end audio. Newbies I've let listen are typically blown away. One even asked where my speakers were. My speakers were VMPS RM 40's which are 66" tall. Also they don't have any idea what a sound stage is. On topic though I think the Boston acoustics system is terrible. My 2005 Explorer has much better sound. Even with Flac files I doubt my Camaro stereo would sound what I consider good.

Is that a big undertaking as that last few cars I have had did have subs so this stereo is quite the downgrade to me
Thanks in advance
