It is the law in many states but sometimes the roads are so crowded here both lanes are full so you get into the lane you need to make your next turn.

All you are expected to do is keep up with traffic and we can all just get along.

As far as I know, the posted limit on the highway is the same for both lanes. So if I'm doing that posted limit, I am relieved of any responsibility to move over for someone breaking the law.

That said, I have no interest in trying to teach people lessons they won't learn. If I can, I'll move over and let them be them. If I can't, then I just keep going as I am, basically ignore them and let the s.o.b. deal with it, it's traffic.

Now, someone who tailgates is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Not to mention the emotional immaturity and self centeredness by being willing to put others in harms way for nothing more than a couple of miles per hour. They're not going to change by being brake checked, or blocked in, sprayed or whatever. What they don't seem to understand is that if anything happens, it's going to be on their dime. Then maybe they'll learn as soon as it hits their wallet and driving privilege. However, if the s.o.b. has a dashcam, and I brake check him, and then something happens, there's a chance I'll get partial responsibility.

Incorrect. In many states it's illegal to ride in the left lane, so you DO have a responsibility to move out of the left lane if not passing.

Exactly. Aggressive driving is also the person blocking, brake checking, and intentionally slowing traffic.

The point is just be a decent person. Move over and let someone pass. I never understood the "teach him a lesson" mindset. I agree someone flying through traffic like an asshole gets what they deserve, but also realize speed limits are set artificially low so doing even 15 over is hardly "reckless" or "dangerous".

Agreed. Loud exhaust, wide tires, agressive lower stance... a nice spoiler. These things will make people think twice about messing with you. Know this by experience...

If I'm cruising, people will typically go around me (almost carefully) or keep their distance behind me.

Its true....this doesnt happen in my Crv lol. But I agree ...i have 305 Nitto drag radials...muffler delete exhaust so all you see is nice stainless pipes and 5 inch tips out the back. Now this doesnt deter everyone but i do find it works for most people.

Yup.

And if you want an example of why you're expected to move right for faster traffic...

Back in January I was traveling NB FL Turnpike in the state truck passing with a group of cars in the left lane. Someone was going waaay slower than they should have been up ahead, causing the entire line of cars to slow. I braked, but the Malibu behind me wasn't able to slow in time and collided with my right rear.

She was of course found at fault and cited for careless, but if the slow moving vehicle ahead had moved to the right like it was supposed to, none of it would've happened.

For sure... I mean, the differences are clear - see pic comparison below.
... add to that a good roar... A modded car vs. a stock car.

Sometimes people will want to poke at you, I like to give them a little rev
and smile etc., and its been mostly respectful. Can't remember a recent
time when I was pushed to the breaking point of wanting to just leave
someone eating my dust because I was cruising and they were on my
ass... straight up d&?k heads. Its been a long while... After I got it maybe
until I got the gfx and wider tires perhaps... exhaust alone didn't really
deter or not noticeably anyway.

It's always in good spirits for as far as I can remember and has never
gotten ugly. Some just want to admire the ride too... these truly are
pretty cars.

People who know nothing about Camaro's have seen enough 5th gen
Camaro's by now to know when one is modded. Just saying long winded - it
all helps deter the average d&?k head from wanting to be a d&?k head to
you.

Shortly after I bought it (had already purchased and installed Flowmaster Catback,
a 3dCarbon spoiler and blacked out the tail lights and rear window)

vs.

Today (with the Zl1 Spoiler, Quads, 315's, and 3dCarbon gfx)

Anyone else have any ideas?
I do so many brake checks I should become a mechanic Nothing more annoying then someone who thinks tailgating will make you move over. I just give a tap on the brake, that lets them know to get off my ass. Now if I'm in the left lane, yes I will move over. But if i'm in the right lane and they are tailgating, then it's war

Someday when you are trying to stop you might try using the brakes as that will reduce your speed.

Breaks are what you use when it is coffee time.

That's Liverpool or City behavior. I'd expect better from a Red Devils fan.

Oh, I wasn't talking about the highway, that's different. No, on the highway it's called "drafting". LOL

On a two lane dived highway, of course the left lane is for faster moving traffic. However, when in or around more urban areas, it's common for both lanes to be filled. However my real point in that post was that many people seem fail to realize the speed limit is for the left lane as well. Not that you'll ever catch me being that slow guy in the left lane, trust me that doesn't happen.
