1-800-GMDRIVE is the number to call! You must have your order number with you or else they cannot look it up!

I got the number for GM in the US (1-800-222-1020) and talked to a guy who seemed reluctant to do much for me. He said "I think the car was started on Monday but I have no idea if it's been built yet."

It was pretty obvious that I wasn't going to get much more info from him. He did not have a VIN for me either.

Oh well. I'll call my dealer on Monday.

All the times that I have called, the lady would put me on hold for 2 minutes or so, they have to call some other department to get the most up to date information.

I'd say just call the number back again and talk to someone else and see if they will give you the correect information you were after and not some bs response.

I just called the dealer. They said they didn't have a VIN as of this morning. He said he would check every morning for me and as soon as they have a VIN, he'll call me. We're hoping to do the paperwork for the sale by next Thursday so I can get the tax write off.

No stripes for me. I am planning on getting them painted on next summer so figured why waste the money for the factory stripes.

One good thing about getting shipped on a truck is they need less cars on there before it can leave the plant, unlike a train.

I didn't get factory stripes either. My brother and his buddy do great custom paint work on cars and he said he's "beat any deal" for me. I'm going to have "spears" painted on the hood and have the strip on the trunk blacked out.

Yeah that strip on the trunk looks better black. I liked the look of that entire back section (the whole thing between the tail lights) blacked out on a car I saw on here somewhere. I think it would look good on my IOM.

One of the tracking mods at Camarotracking.com said that my car did not get built this week. So, it won't be built until Jan. 4 or after. :(

Sad to say looks like the plant doesn't startup again until Jan 11. I think they're taking a week off to retool for the convertible.

Word has it on the streets......that the plant starts back on 1/4/2010

Unfortunately the plant resumes operation on January 11th. I beleive the extra week in there is to change the production line to include the convertible.
