Thank you for your feedback, and to everyone else that has responded. I have been in contact with Zurich on a regular basis. Their hands are tied until the tear down is down and the r.o is submitted. Then they will inspect and order as needed. Zurich only offers a rental for the first 3 days. The hardest part for me IS, I have never...never had anything like this happen. I am trying to be patient and didnt escalate with Chevy until Oct 14th. It is so unacceptable to me that they havent diagnosed my car yet to let Zurich do what Zurich needs to do. I expect to wait for parts, because of the strike. It never crossed my mind that they would need a month or more just to diagnose...WTF!!! The only rental company in alamosa, and Zurich where both closed over the weekend when the car died. I did try A far as the loaner goes, if the dealer has one available, I get to drive a mystical none existant car 9 hours to pick it up...then have some mystical person with me to drive the 9 hours back...or pay 500 to fly to co springs and over 100 to uber to alamosa. At the end of the day...dealer has none available, so that's all for naught. " even if we had a loaner we dont want it driven to s.d." How about having a job that requires a vehicle to get onto a sealed airforce base daily. Being a parent that needs to buy grocieries, pick children up and just live life. I have 2 children at home...15 year old that is a sophomore and the 21 year old that i was picking up. Be patient they say...life doesnt stop...I just get ****ed! So because I was responsible and didnt crash my car when it died, I'm not eligible for a rental anywhere. I feel ****ed. Floored, disappointed...and not sure where to turn. Honestly I want to see if they will use the gap to total my car and get as far from Chevy as I can. I know that, that's probably not reasonable, however this is my third chevy and second camaro...never never have I been spoken too this way, nor treated this way. I am holding tight...but come on! |

Talked to my Local Chevy Shop Foreman and it sounds like GM is still in a Stall mode. Hope all this ends for you soon.

So after 40 days, the initial diagnosis has come back.
Long block needs to be replaced due to broken rod, hydrolock and low coolant. How in the sam hell does that happen??? M car has never been in a flood and it was almost 80° clear, and sunny in s.w. co where it happened???? Anyways...waiting on Zurich now. |

Update
Sat, Sept 28 engine failure at 98,119 miles Chevy refused to honor powertrain warranty!!! Chevy customer loyalty was an awful experience! On 11/25 Zurich stepped up and picked up the claim. On Dec 12th new engine was installed and the catalytic converters were found to be bad and not covered under my Zurich Warranty.... On December 16th I picked up my car from Town and Country. 50 miles and 1/4 tank of gas gone, carhardt Jacket gone, and my brand new C Charger gone. Car was clean, aligned and now Catless. I drove the 732 miles back varying my RPMS with no WOT at all. Car feels great and I am happy to have it back...I think The new engine comes with another 3 year 100k mile warranty...and my list of mods went with that...or do I just say **** it. I don't know where I stand with this whole thing anymore. I moved to Pierre SD and concerned on how the car will do Jan - March... I really am interested in the new Blazer or Durango...do I trade it, keep it. I just don't know. After the 77 days of this fiasco I just don't know. Angry...really Angry. |

I'd probably keep it while you have that engine warranty, might as well get some use out of it. If you really want an SUV I'd stay away from the Durango or any Chrysler product. Way too many issues. And all their hemi engine parts have been on national back order for god knows how long, I had to rebuild a 6.4 and was told internals are mostly the same as the 5.7 and 6.1, and they are all failing. Not impressed with the smaller dodge motors either. This is all before you even get into all the electrical problems chrysler has with their pos computers |

Thanks for the feedback. I wont ever do ford, they soured me for 5 years worth of bs on 5 separate f350 for horse showing purposes. Now dodge...I love dodge. Wanted something bigger...not 70k bigger. I have owned and loved my 2000 dodge Duango with the 5.9l since we bought it new in 2000. It needs to be retired with 265k on the clock!! Still thinking and figuring. I am trying to find the positive and damn she is sexy!! |

I'm not quite understanding. What was the reason why Chevrolet refused to warranty your engine? Was it because it extended beyond the time limit of warranty, or was it based on something else?
From your early posts it seemed that your extended warranty did not want to cover the damage, but now it seems like they are backing the claim. Did the dealership ever say what was the reason for the engine failure? Edit: I read the last few posts. Why has Chevrolet decided not to back the warranty? Age or misuse? If I may ask; What was your maintenance routine up to this point? What was the mileage intervals that you changed your oil, and monitor and change the anti freeze coolant, other lubricants, etc. These things will matter if Chevy is hinting that your car's engine failed due to abuse. Explain further; Thanks.
