As for colors, I want my ambient lighting to match all the other lighting in the interior - gauges, knobs, etc. Which all seem to be blue, so thats what I'm going with.

This may be something which anyone who has seen or been in one of the RS's or been in on the Milford Disciple Gathering.

Is the vast dash expanse Hard to the touch? or is it Padded?

My '05 Grand Prix GTP is padded and soft to the touch.

Red lighting is pretty hard on the eyes at night, so I'll probably go with blue or orange.

From the pictures I'm about 90% certain that it's hard plastic.

One never knows. That's why I asked the question for someone who has actually seen, sat in , and touched one !

I know that the dash in the Mustang is hard plastic.

I personally am completely satisfied with ice blue. But for those of you who want yellow, green, etc.. i doubt it will be very hard or expensive to get your custom color once you have the car. Its prolly just a matter or changing a few led lights.

I haven't sat in one ( :( ), but GM's on a soft-touch plastic spree right now, so I'm kinda guessing there will be a lot of soft-touch plastic.

My guess would be that the dash itself is soft-touch. But the lighted portion almost definitely has to be a clear acrylic to allow the light through. Hence it will probably be hard.

Personally I don't care if a cars interior/dash is hard or soft. I'm not sleeping on it or even rarely touching anything other than the wheel and control knobs.

Yes but soft touch plastics rattle and creak less. The more it feels like rubber, the more it acts like rubber.

am i reading this correctly?!? according to the salespersons reference guide, the LT-adds 18 or 19 inch aluminum wheels, fog lamps, 6-way power driver's seat, "INTERIOR AMBIENT LIGHTING" and more. does that mean the SS will have all this, plus it's added features? and does that mean the ambient lighting is standard so i don't need to get leather seats for it? should i not be so excited about what i'm reading?

Would love red interior lighting, but of the two available choices blue would probably be my preferred color.
