They were hot cars in their day.

Gm wont touch your paint unfortunatly. I work for GM, in the paint shop and they wouldent respray my right rear crew cab door on my truck. All you could see in any sunlight was baseclear.

For the record, my car does have every single problem listed. EVERY one of them! I even wrote verbatim what was on my warranty invoices..sorry you feel I am fishy and last but not least..I AM NOT A HE!
Relax, it's ok. We're all trying to help you. I really think you need to make that list of problems, visit a different dealership and speak with the service manager directly and see what he says. Even if they can resolve most of your issues, whatever else he refuses to repair you'll need to take it up with a district manager. Don't hesitate to tell them that you are an avid fan of Camaro5.com and you frequent there often. This will tell them two important things:

#1 - You know a lot about your car; You pay attention and you listen well; You also know what to expect from your car and notice things that aren't supposed to be happening with your car. The DM, above all should know what this website it all about. In all fairness, you shouldn't mention members by name because C5 shouldn't be responsible for your situation or that we are out to get the dealerships and DM's that refuse to help you. We're on your side and this indirectly helps you.

#2 - If the DM knows about C5, and that you frequent here, he also knows how fast reputations and information travel here if they aren't being fair with their customers. Last thing he and his dealerships want is a bad name here. If he is any kind of customer service specialist, he should know the basics of it. It takes 10 satisfied customers to refer 1 person to your business and only 1 dissatisfied customer to discourage 20 away from your business. I don't think the DM wants to deal with this.

#2; no car is without its share of issues, regardless of cost. Even multi-hundred thousand dollar cars have issues. Ferrari's warranty period reflects that to the extreme....

#3; no single vehicle (out of millions produced in a year) is an accurate measure of any company. You said you bought an Equinox and a Suburban and never had an issue...so why threaten to never buy GM again?

#4: You've said multiple times, and your examples illustrate -- that it's just a bunch of tiny little problems. Nothing catastrophic, and nothing that can't be fixed (that's why they give you one of the best warrantys out there). So why the duct-tape comment? :(

I'm not about to tell you you're wrong, or that your car isn't broke, or whatever other blind-loyalty statement somebody might spout at you...what I will say is maybe have a little patience? Relax a little? I think you do have a lemon...because your experience is definitely not typical.
I'm so tired of hearing first model year so theres going to be problems. BS how long has GM been making cars? I got an idea how about getting the bugs out before you mass produce it. You pay 40,000 you shouldn't have to take your car in every other week to get something fixed.Knock on wood my car has been perfect so far had not been for the camaro I never buy a Gm car or truck because my opinion there junk. And I know I'm not going to make any friends by saying that. Just speaking from past expercinces

Thanks for your input..and thanks to the rest of you who have been helpful.
I guess I was venting earlier more than anything..it sux..I actually told my husband, that I should get rid of it and buy something else. I was that sad, when I came home tonight. ALL of you would be that sad if it were your car.

On a side note, as you can see by my posts, it is not like I live on here like some others..I didnt really have the time to read the millions of posts before I posted my posts.
All of this may be a simple fix, but the paint? Even in the thread on here, it addresses metallic colors and not really being able to fix that.
I think you came to the right place, this is a great forum for info. But expect all kinds of responses.

With regards to your issues, I think the best input you are going to get is:

1) follow up with lemon laws (may not apply)
2) check around for another GM dealer, sounds like this one is giving you the run around somewhat.
3) keep with it, if you really enjoyed the 4884 miles you've put on it so far.

and 4) stick around... this is a great place for info, and interacting with other American Muscle Car fans!

The technology changes in every new model. Placement of parts and other things. BMW's and Mercedes have these problems with 1st year model cars too, so what is your deal? We're not here to be your friend, we are here to listen to what you have to say and respond objectively to it. Not to judge you.
