No, I was looking for "the nasty pics" and all I saw were pics of some rusty headers

Maybe it's my humor

[QUOTE=RCPW;1340023]Okay so this amount of Rust is Normal, After all I'm guessing these tubes are probably 1/4" thick or something like that.

Whats wrong with the Welds?

I'd say that there is no way that it is .25 round tubing. Maybe 20 gauge

As for the weld. They are doing their job, may not be as preety as they could be but 95% wouldn't know anyway.

true, but i wasn't refering to structural integrity........i'm talking asthetics!

yes.....asthetics. i plan to show mine from time to time as well as drive it everyday there's no rain, snow or salt on these Wisconsin roads.

I ordered Kooks with Jett hot 1700 coating. the Kooks (and ARH) are T-304 stainless. and i got my Kooks shipped cheaper than the JBA.

not everyone cares about asthetics.........but i want the underside of our Camaro to look as nice as the body!

I'd say a daily driver with salt would see an increased corrosion factor compared to FL.
I would be disapointed in buying a header that was coated and seeing those results.

I've been considering headers for a while. I want to go with a set of shorties for the LS3 and replace the cats. In past experience I have always had problems with header gaskets leaking at about 6k to 8k miles on them. Even if you checked bolt torque they still leaked. I was wondering if any body has expirienced this with thier camaro yet. I know we now have locking hardware and I even wired a set of bolts once and they still leaked after time. It is truly a job to replace gaskets and doing things twice without a mistake infuriates me. If a header manufactorer would produce a header with a flange heavier than 3/8" I would buy them tommorrow. I feel the 3/8" flange does not provide an adequate surface for the gasket and does warp ever so slightly from heat cycles over time.

So,... Do you think i should post these pics in a New thread and try to get the attention of the JBA Rep that I see floating around here to see what he says about these?

I'm selling the Truck to get the 2SS that I have on order so I'm not going to go out of my way to far to try and take these off and try to get these recoated and put back on before I sell the truck but dont you think I should get the attention of the JBA Rep?

About the Welds,... To tell you the Truth!

When I first received these Headers, I thought WTF also, But I got to looking at them and there was nothing Wrong with the Welds other than Aesthetics as someone else had pointed out,...

So Add All Of This Together And This Is Why I Think I Might Want To Try A Different Brand Of Header Next Time Around When I get My New 2SS.

What gaskets were you using and with what bolts? We always use the original or replacement GM Multi Layer Steel or "MLS" gaskets with the original GM bolts with stainless lock washers and haven't had any flange leaks yet. The supplied graphite or fuzzy carbon gaskets make for pretty wall decorations

I always reuse the stock gaskets. My GTO's stock gaskets have been through 6 header installs
