I half spoke to some dealers that say they will not take orders on cars until pricing becomes available. This way they can order the cars to what the customer wants to make them happy. At least this is what has been said. Now it being true I am not so sure on. Saying and doing two different things entirely.

Don’t know. Some dealers can be just as stubborn and pig headed as some customers, even more so. I have seen some car dealers get into a poker match when selling a car. The customer and sales rep trying to out bluff each other.

OK Scotty,
Not to be a nay sayer. But, I'm not a person who trusts anything a salesman tells me where buying a car from them is concerned. I don't think salesman are bad people. I just think the deck is way stacked in their favor. Now having made myself look like a complete A-hole. Here's my question. I think in terms of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Meaning if you promise me MSRP or $300 over invoice. I interpret that to mean TCO. So, When I leave the dealership I either cut you a check for Invoice + $300 or MSRP. Or I take out a loan for that exact ammount. To be clear, what else will be added to the purchase price, so I can figure out TCO? Thanks

I completely expect there to be some extra costs. Tags and title for one. Some dealers add $200 - $500 vehicle inspection fee. Others add Lot Fees, and the list goes on and on. One of Scotty's own added costs is the drop ship cost. Some of these extra line items are appropriate and some are not. In my opinion an extra Lot or Dealer fee is not something I'm willing to pay for. I'm not saying that Scotty is one of those salesman. I just want to know what all the line items will be should I choose to do business with him. I'm not trying to flame anyone. I'm just stating my concerns based on my experiences.

The Camaro SS is the bargain of the century I think , a BMW M3 has similar performance , weighs 3700 pounds (being a much smaller 2+2 car with less room), with 0 to 60 in 4.6 and 12.7 1/4 mile yet it cost close to 70.000 dollars fully loaded and doesn't even come close in looks , and get this the M3 does 95 g's while the SS was quoted at being capable of 97g's simply AWESOME , hats of to GM for making a WORLD CLASS SPORTS CAR at a BARGAIN PRICE probably under 40.000 k fully loaded enough said

If you buy from out of state you don't have to pay sales tax to the dealer. But I will have to pay it when I register the car in Fl. so that does count as TCO. Good point.

I have bought 2 new trucks from my dealer in the last three years. Yesterday they said they want $10,000 over MSRP. I told them they would lose my loyalty and never buy from them again. They sent an e-mail back and said for me being a loyal repeat customer they would sell to me at MSRP, not a pennie more. That came from the owner.
None of us should pay over MSRP. Dealers will lower thier price if you approach them the right way. Stick to your guns. Anyone who does extra must be an arrogant A** just to be one of the first Camaro owners. They will regret paying extra later.

So a $34,990 MSRP'd SS will be a total of $35,100 Tax you pay in your home state, so if you want to finance tax & registration, you need to figure out what that's going to run, and have it added to the loan, and get a check back payable to your home state. Quote:
