ok...ttexxan pm'd me to see what i could do. today i just cut a piece of my static cling vinyl to see what it would look like. it looks good but had a few air bubbles under it. i didn't have any time at all to mess with it but it looks like it would do the trick. the difference between mine and cleartastic or some other vinyl with an adhesive on it is my can be taken off and on as often as you like. say you go to a car show just peel it off then when you leave wipe it back on.
that's the only advantage i could see. and i think if you played with it you could get all the air bubbles out. i'm gonna send ttexxan a piece so he can see what he thinks and he can give you guys his opinion.

One type of problem I am worried about with this type of product will it leave duller areas around the face or give different smudge appearance. I bought some just havent had the nerve to try...Dealer is looking into trading my radio out or buffing...

Exclamation wanna solve it?

ANYONE interested in a protector that will not only protect it from further scratches but fill in and make the current ones invisible and reduce any finger prints or smudges w/lifetime warranty PM me. I dont want to post anything and get in trouble because im not a vendor persay but my company does something along these lines for electronics and i could get a piece designed for the radio if enough showed interest..it is WAY thinner than clear bra and works amaaazing.

check out our website it is being redeveloped at the moment tho

Meguiars Plast-X IS AWESOME. I used it to bring my panel pieces to a high polish shine for paint.

Don't do the business in this thread, but definitely tell us what it is about. That's fine. If you can make the shield, I'll get one too. But, need to see what it is made of, how it's applied, how it fits, yadda, yadda, price, etc and then we'll be good to go. I can almost guarantee you that I'll pick one up.

Let us know what you think here and then post all the ordering stuff in the vendor thread.

Cool site info. Looks good.

my dealer told me that they ordered another replacement radio for me. I was wondering if I can tell the dealer to install the stock navigation instead of the stock radio. Is that possible?

It's a composite polyurethane applied kind of like window tint. If I get it designed it would fit dead on and is applied like window tint. I would be able to include install tools( proper solution and squeegee ) it would have a life time warranty against peeling scratching etc. I can post pix later of how well if fills in scractches on a cell phone.

check it

Here is a pic of an iphone that had a destroyed back, the adhesive fills in the scratches similar to filling a rock chip on a windshield...the phone isnt even dry, the edges still need to be applied once dry because its rounded...for any critics that can find some, after 24hrs any haze or cloudiness will dry crystal clear..

before

after

I'M KIDDING.

You'll definitely need to put that info up in the vendors section. I'd bet MOST people here will order one. I WOULD. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!

I wouldn't say incredibly easily. At least on all of the Camaros I've driven. But it can scratch and so there is a service bulletin.

09 08 44 015B

1. Clean the radio display screen and surrounding area with a clean, damp (not wet) soft cotton cloth or a micro-fiber cloth. Do not use any cleaners or solvents - use only clean warm water.
Important: Use only high quality automotive-type masking tape. Do not use cloth-type tape as it may damage the soft touch finish on the instrument panel. Remove the tape immediately after the polishing process is completed.

See photo below

2. Mask off the surrounding area as shown to prevent damage or staining from the polishing material (Camaro shown, Solstice and SKY similar).
3. Apply a small amount of GM Swirl Remover Polish, P/N 12377965 (in Canada, use P/N 88900046), to a soft cotton cloth or micro-fiber cloth.
4. Hand polish the display screen using a circular motion. Polish the display until satisfactory results are achieved.
5. Finish the process with a clean portion of the polishing cloth using a straight cross-car motion.
6. Remove the masking tape from the surrounding area.
7. Clean the radio display screen and surrounding area with a clean, damp (not wet) soft cotton cloth or a micro-fiber cloth to pick up any dust left from the polishing procedure. Do not use any cleaners or solvents - use only clean warm water.

This is what the dealer should do for you. Ref to bulletin

PIX!

I got the first test fit done here is a pic of it installed, i will try to add a video of install if i can get it working, took about 2 min to install just like tinting a little window. I am working on prices now with my company but ea order would come with installation tools, squeegee and install solution. Once i get it ready along those lines i will post up in the vendor section and even get some sort of Camaro5 coupon code
