Bike rack or roof rack?

get a truck for that theres no way i would have a new camaro without having a truck also to daily drive, the camaro stays in the garage till a special occasion like a car meet or criuse or sunny day off . every man needs a truck no matter what !!... i would hate to see someone with a bike or a xmas tree sticking out of the back of a camaro and what if you have to move stuff then you will be bugging somebody like me to use my truck ,sorry nope get your own truck. and its NOT just a car its my freaking hard earned $42,000 sports car !! sound like a spoiled rotten kid or girl saying its just a car, just make sure you dont park by me!!!

They are cars... transportation.
Buy a car to transport a bike. thats funny shit. then you have to keep it registered and insured for the couple days a month you would drive it to your trail.

I'm surprised a Saris trunk rack won't fit.......really??? That would've been my suggestion. I hadn't even thought about this, but I bought a pretty nice Gary Fisher last year and am interested in this thread. Let us know what you do.

Just another small point, if I drive to some beautiful and scenic mountain location in the summer- it's almost always to bike ride. Why would I want to take an old beater to a ski resort if I had a car that would make the drive fun? Biking is a great excuse to go places you'd never go otherwise.

Because the $3,000 Bicycle is made of thin Carbon Fiber, that if it gets so much as a chip or scratch can be compromised, As well the chain grease is about the nastiest shit you can ever get on a surface. And the bike is large enough to hit and damage interior surfaces, scratching the bike and the inside of my car. Then every time I take it out I have to get chain grease all over my hands re mounting the rear wheel on the bike. So logistically taking the wheels off and putting the bike it the car is pretty dumb.

I actually have a Thule rack, the reason it doesn't work is the side straps that prevent it from sliding side to side don't have a good spot to hook on to, The straps slide and pop off. The body seams are too tight LOL!

Even if I were to take the car on a dirt gravel road (within reason) what harm will it cause? I'm not going to be rallying it around the corners, besides a little dust I don't think there will be any problem. For those of you who don't bike, who cares what I do with my car, well my "40k sports car" I will most likely get a hitch with a bike rack to take on and off, will not affect my cars paint and I will be happy with it For those of you that don't like it, don't look at it. I will be on trail enjoying my self, then a fun drive back down the mountains. everyone needs to relax and go for a drive! (unless yours is sitting in storage)

Hey rogue leader. I'm thinking replacement cost here. $3000 vs close to $40000. That's why I said your arguement didn't make sense. I'd rather see you guys mount a temporary bike rack than a permanent high wing spoiler. I really don't want to see you cramming it in there. Try getting No Toil air filter oil off your hands when you run out of rubber gloves and the right solvant! Probably along the same lines

Ya the problem is a scratch or crack in a Carbon Fiber frame could mean having to buy a new Frame, so relatively the cost is substantial. Yes $3k vs $40k is small but its all relative. 3gs is still 3 gs...

EDIT: and a Bike rack when installed properly is not going to wreck or damage a Camaro one bit, but its quite easy to destroy a bike AND make a mess of your car while you're at it if you try and carry a bike the wrong way.

i am going to get my car in march. i ride and race. i have a a 7000.00 moutian bike ibis mojo, and a 3500.00 felt f4. i am putting on a hitch to haul my bikes. this is the first time in my life that my car is worth more than my bikes. but my great question is what is the differance between driving a 40,000.00 suv and 40,000.00 camaro they do the same job get me and my stuff places. i am proud to show off my car and drive it not just look at it. get a hitch style rack

I think it does..
plus NOT everyone can afford INS ,Registration, etc on a 2nd car, some hav ethe Camaro..and only the Camaro.. ..

Its not the friggin end of the world.. Yea ..its a 35000 Camaro SS..but a small hidden hitch isnt the damn end.. would I put one on mine.. MAYBE... if I didnt have my Silverado.. but then prob not cause really have nothing to tow.. but if I HAD to yea I would.

But these arent $450,000 cars Cmon.. I love the Camaro legacy & history.

I btw dont go trying to scratch and damage my SS... and Im sure every other Camaro owner would say the same.
