I'm only commenting because I assume they'll be similar. But the launch control on the cobalt works like this: You press a button which turns it on. Floor the throttle and dump the clutch. The computer uses the Electronic throttle to control throttle position which keeps the wheelspin in check and gets you off the line as fast as possible. It'll keep the revs at the right position for optimum acceleration as well as minimal wheelspin.

That's how it works in most cars. Even really expensive ones that have had this feature before GM cars. Like Ferrari's and Lamborghini's.

Thank you so much Tom!

Does it also allow you to keep the throttle to the floor between shifts?

That would be called "no lift shift" as in the Cobalt SS Turbo...

So since the launch mode is on the Cobalt SS also, is the no lift also a part of this system for Camaro as it is for the Cobalt SS?

Well they don't have anywhere near the same transmission. I wouldn't count on it. The features on the Camaro have already been released and that wasn't one of them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't no-lift shift only on the Getrag (sp?) transmission?

Also, the no-lift shift is to keep the turbo at max boost. The Camaro shouldn't have any issues in the torque department.

Nope, the only problem will be buying new tires all the time!

Thanks guys, wasn`t sure if it was in the same package w/ the launch control or seperate. So since it is seperate and not listed I`m sure you guys are right and it won`t be on it.

I guess you could look at it that way. OR, you could say it is a benefit because not having the power to smoke your tires, now that's a problem.

I'm bummed about not having real nav and dual zone. When my wife is in the car her side is always set about 10 degrees warmer! OnStar blows.
