The Bowtie is not problem but I can not get the RS badge right. Has anyone tried to do this on a RS?

Not as easy as it seems (SS) emblems. Tried doing mine spent an hour and no luck. Too hard. And just tried doing the rear one SS at a time (only tried one) and it pulled the red off. Now I have one chrome and one red. Guess gonna have to order precut ones to go back in.....

I don't think anybody does....

Pay for shipping and I'll hook em up for you. Just an offer, I ain't perfect but I've learned that using a seriously sharp razor is the key.

PM if you're seriously interested,
Ivan

+1 on the sharp razor even after just doing the bowties and 1 S the razor was too dull to finish the other S's properly. I bought a little pack of 5 blades and used 2 of 'em.

my system for the S's:

- do 1 S at a time, and cut a piece of vinyl that is a square that's about 1/4" overlapping the S on all sides.
- stick it on and hit it with the blow dryer for 10-15 seconds
- use a wet q-tip to push it into the emblem and work it into all the edges (sometimes I'll give it more heat as I'm doing this to really be able to shape it well)
- now take the razor and slit the vinyl outside the emblem to make it an S shape as well. Not sure how to really describe it, but if you slit you won't pull one part out while your trimming another.
- then run the razor over top of the emblem from the middle working towards the ends while following the S shape. you'll be cutting both edges at the same time and it won't pull. Don't try and follow the inside of the bezel with the razor, you'll never get it perfect.
- then use the dull back side of the razor and run it around the edges inside the S. This will make sure the edges are seated and adhered.

Hope that helps If it's unclear what I'm talking about I can try and make some sketches to help describe it.

I have the Front and Back Bowtie Vinyl decals from BigWorm Graphics in Matte Flat Black color. These decals are precut so they go on very easy. Comes with Squeegie and instructions. They sale for $24.99 on the BigWorm Site, But I will let mine go for $15.00 and will ship it to you for free. Also will throw in a Large BigWorm Graphics decal. Just PM me if interested.

I got my vinyl from a local Hobby shop, Easy as it seems for others,I really had a hard time doing the front bowtie. It keeps on wrinkling on the middle of the emblem! That's why I had to do each sides separately but still looks good tho.

Apply the vinyl to the middle and work the wrinkles outward...might work better that way for ya.

Keep at it and post up your finished pics!

Absolutely....just stick it to the middle part of the bowtie first...where the peak is, then you can thumbit outward.

You'll get it man. It'll look great when you do too watch!
