weight reduction is a must, now i think the supercharger that was mentioned is due to the fact that is must have more power than the ss. so my question is, supercharge the ls3, or just drop in a ls7 or ls9? As big as this model will be they are going to try and do it the best/cheapest way they can. SC or just bigger engine? i dont know if they can justify having a moonroof/sunroof if everyone wants the hp output that the z28 deserves. they could brace it more but that is more $. and like another member said it needs to stand out so you can tell all the models apart if they were sitting next to each other, and from the spy photos, it looks like they have a handle on that.

Well, moderate weight reduction would be possible. GM could never offer one that weighs as much as a Corvette, but a 200 lbs might be doable as long as they don't go with forced induction.

Beat a Shelby's specs, and 99.9% of the buyers will be happy. Make modding it way over the Shelby practical, and you have 100%.

NO sunroof, NO electric windows and mirrors, ABSOLUTELY NO SAT-NAV, No sound insulation, a fully functional dash(TACH, SPEEDO, OIL TEMP, OIL PRESSURE, WATER TEMP) NO center console, light weight interior door panels and dash, meatier RACING BREMBO brakes, No cruise control, OPTIONAL NO A/C, tuned track suspension, lower ride height, larger cooling capacity......I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT WON'T....HOPEFULLY THE Z/28 WON'T DISAPPOINT!!!!!

The must have part for the Z28 is a drop in weight and get back to rim sizes that are in reality to handle......18"s..... loose the bling sized wagon wheels (they weight 65 lbs each OMG!!!!). Another must is an improved tuned suspension.
I would be happy with a tuned LS3 that picks up torque. The Z does not have to have the same amount of HP and TQ or a SC to beat up on the GT500 on a road course (that is where the Z28 should shine). I would say manual trans only (just like the originals) but then there are too many wimps that are shiftless .PS NO moon roof (what next T-tops ) except as a option, why would anyone want the factory cut a leak into there Camaro and loose head room?

Im hoping they give us more then one engine option for the Z28. I want the Jay Leno edition one with the twin turbo 6. Not all of us want to have to spend over 60k just to say we have a Z28 like we did back in the day. Just my 2 cents.

But if you want a ~400 hp car that weighs ~3900lbs and costs in the low to mid $30k range, there is already the SS.

Just build the Z28 so that it is different from the SS. More power is always welcome.
Just because on paper the Camaro might beat any and all Mustangs, doesn't mean everyone will sit down in one and do that. There is always the difference in driver skills. Just race, enjoy yourself, be safe, hopefully we win, if not....then make up crap about fluid on the track or something.
