Lol well I don't have that car anymore but it was in perfect swirl free condition the day I sold it. I do own z2 and z5, but once a quarter that car got the full claybar treatment, then z-pc mild abrasive swirl remover through my porter cable, followed by several coats of zaino. But since you're listing zaino products, you already KNEW about z-pc and just forgot to mention it, right? I know how to take care of my paint, 'chief'. You can't show me a practically new camaro as proof of your polish! Lol

Visit autopia or any other dedicated detailing site and you'll see that the VAST majority of show cars swear by zaino

I was with you all the way up to that last part! There really is no scientific way to prove that, nor has any official study been done to validate that. It does sound good though but from what I've seen, people are all over the place with what they feel is the best product out there. As a former user of Zaino (among other brands), the only thing that I have found different about Zaino and other good products is how it is applied. For me, the shine has always been the same, no matter what I used.

Why do good posts always go south. Who really cares what the best product is, just use whatever you can afford. The key is applying it correctly. As I previously stated I love zaino especially for the cost it is awesome, so is mequires. Adams has the best customer service out there bar none. If your rich try swizol or something.

Why do you feel the thread has gone south? The OP asked for opinions and everyone is expressing their personal favorite. Everyone appears to be cordial. Compared to some threads that I've seen on other sites, this thread is Disney channel.

I'm on Autopia - Enjoy your Zaino buddy

I've owned show trucks, I've used zaino.. its too much effort for the same result.

I have yet to buy a brand new car that hasn't been swirled up by the dealership before bringing it home, I'm never lucky enough to get em right off the truck.

Agree to disagree..

Here's a before - the damage was very light - but still it was there.

LOL... while I might agree to some extent that a lot of people use Z products on their cars its a tad hasty to suggest the "vast majority" of show cars swear by Zaino. Even if that were the case its flawed logic - McDonalds sells more hamburgers than anyone else, does that make their burger the best? I've been involved with detailing and even more specifically the custom and show car/truck world for a long time now... while Zaino is widely used I'd venture to say its not even CLOSE to being the most vastly used product, not by a long shot. Not saying Adam's is either, but popularity is by no means a yardstick for quality.

I can qualify this input as I actually do a lot of show car, auction car, concours, and magazine cover car prep myself.... feel free to guess what product line I'm using

LMAO!! You were a No Sympathy guy? We were probably at a lot of the same shows. A lot of my friends were in AcrophobiA and Local Finesse. Even had some friends in RA too... I'd be at all the big shows (truck jam, ludacris, blood drag, etc) taking pictures and whatnot when I was helping my buddy with his site (showtruck scene)

Here's a few of a 52 Ford show truck I did for a guy.. All Adam's now-a-days, You can see my camaro in that beautiful Adam's shine.

The product you use is all subjective as to what works well for you. Adam's products do what they say - and better yet, if they don't - Adam will hand you his cell phone number and guarantee you will love his products.

I would rather give my hard earned money to someone who really works hard for it. Adam has built a company on fantastic products, and customer service second to none. He's got my business as long as I own clear coat.

Small world aye Dylan! I miss the mini-truck scene, but dumping that kinda money into a truck now when I have a family to support is not an option :(

I still talk to a few of my old Severed Ties friends. I was the VP of No Sympathy Ch6 (glendora/west covina), The pres and I left the club back in 03 when we put our foot down about letting "lesser quality" vehicles roll logos. No Sympathy for a good period of time was known to have some of the nicest show trucks in the scene until other chapters got lazy and wanted more members.. I liked the club when it was small.. But I made friends for life back in those days. One of good friends still works at Devious Customs - one of these days I'll take my daughter to a truck show when she's old enough to walk around

Small world indeed. I never signed on with a club... wasn't really my thing, but a lot of my friends were in them and I liked going to the shows. LF and Acro started to be the same way, letting in primered trucks, hackjobs, and Scions (WTF?) A lot of the old clubs have fallen apart. I just could never commit to all the meetings and crap... I wanted to go to the shows, hang out with my friends, but didn't want to be REQUIRED to be places.

Before I sold it I was very close to working with Art @ GOEZ on bagging my Silverado SS, but that was around the same time my little one was born so I flushed that idea. Bought the TBSS as a 'family ride' (HA!!) Then outgrew that so here we are now.

Funny how these midget offspring change your priorities isn't it?

Wait - so the guy here on Adam's payroll, the guy with an Adams coupon named after him and an Adams Evangelist from their forum all spoke up in opposition to my "Zaino is preferred" claim? SHOCKER! :P

LOL, ok so all kidding aside, I'm not bashing Adams. I use a lot of their products. I bought and tried out several wax/polish products years ago and did one panel in Adams and the adjoining one Zaino. This was after a recent PC polish so swirls were not a huge factor at the time of my test. I was mainly concerned about the quality and durability of the shine. In my personal tests, the Adams was slightly easier to apply, but neither its shine or its durability could match the zaino panel, on the same car, under the same weather conditions. I even asked my wife for her opinion on the two panels (who knows nothing about, nor cares about, car detailing) to rule out any product bias I might bring to the equation. She also chose the Zaino panel as the one that 'looked prettier". About 2 weeks (and 1 rainy day) later, a quick detail spray brought the Zaino back to the day I polished it. The Adams panel looked positively dull by comparison at that time. I felt like a little extra work that Zaino required was worth the extra shine and durability I was getting. I didn't ask for my money back on Adam's because it clearly did what it claimed to do. It was a quality product, just not quite on the level of Zaino, IMO.

I understand mine is simply one in a sea of opinions, and 2LTRS, you've gotten some AWESOME results from adam's polishes on that truck. But side by side on a black car, I could see a difference.

Now let me qualify my "Vast Majority" claim that several people took issue with. The OP is specifically asking for Adams VS Zaino products. In light of the topic title, I stand by my claim that, if you visit a lot of detailing forums, and if you frequent a lot of car shows and ask the participants what product they use and prefer, the VAST majority of them will mention Zaino as compared to Adam's. That's not including the millions of people who prefer one of the other 50 products available. I'm trying to answer the OPs specific question. I stand by that claim. Meguiars or Turtle Wax would be the 'McDonalds' example someone mentioned, simply because it's cheap and available in practically every store in america and heavily marketed.

I'd venture to say that, even on Autopia, of which Adams is a sponsor, the 2 or 3 guys here that represent Adams are responsible for 75% of the posts recommending those products there. In fact, there's even some claims over there that, despite Adams sterling CS reputation, the forum guys can be a little abusive in their biased defense of Adams products.

I apologize if giving my opinion on these products and subsequently being browbeaten for my pics made this thread "go south". I don't believe I have bashed anyone or said anything negative about anyone here. Just giving my opinion.
