The lack of vision on this car is overstated in my opinion. It just case a few weeks to get use to it in my opinion.

Autopat! I feel the same way. About the only time I have an urge to have it elevated was when my wife was driving me home from the hospital after a transplant. Other than that, that seat is just about perfect as no one else have ever complaint including my wife, sons and our youngest daughter. Heck, my kids (including teenaged boys) love it even if they have to ride in the back seats (-; when we gone out for a cruise.

I remember when muscle cars had no frills. That being said I am pleased at what was produced. For 36000.00 I am pleased, could improvements be made, yes. Will they, probably not. I do see them adding some functionability in it like the passenger seat problem, but not revamping the whole interior.
This car has MUSCLE and thats what I like and what I got and a few creature comforts to boot, especially for the price. I have always bought GM, always, and before I ordered my Camaro I actually went and test drove a Mustang and a Challenger and a Vette. I just wanted to make sure before I put my money down. Even though I could not drive a Camaro and all I had to go on was a drawing, I still bought a Camaro, The Vette was second but the extra cash wasn't worth it to me. I agree with all the comments on the interior but that is kinda what we got a cheaper Muscle car, I have looked at 1st Gen's lately, this is way better. Is it a Porsche, no but it's not meant to be either, JMHO

I always love when the self-anointed "cost accountants" talk about "cheap interiors". They haven't a CLUE, as to cost. They may not like the DESIGN so they parrot some newspaper columnist (who usually writes about chili recipes) who thinks an interior is cheap. In the case of the Camaro, I suspect the piece cost is relatively high for it's segment.
When the original 2003 Cadillac CTS debuted, an uninformed columnist commented that the interior was "cheap" and several columnists picked up on that and repeated it. In actuality, it was a very pricey interior -- just a new take on design (maybe ugly in your mind, but not cheap). In the case of Camaro, regardless of your view on the design, they used excellent materials for a Chevy--- and no rattles or creaks after the first 7,000 miles. The DESIGN is more subjective!

2. I've been in lots of cars and the only one I've ever been in that the interior didn't boil down to "cheap plastic" was a $100k+ BMW M6 that my boss had. 3. The Camaro has the most useable dash I've ever seen. Everything is well within reach and can actually be manipulated without being too distracting. 4. I don't know which one they gave you but my steering wheel is fantastic. 5. Non-issue IMO. There's a lot less need for passenger seat adjustment than driver seat. 6. I don't have a sunroof so no comment. 7. So you wanna alleviate the "cheap plastic interior" by adding "cheap faux carbon fiber" ? I don't get it..... Having worked extensively with real carbon fiber, fake CF is about as cheap looking as you can get.8. I've had no problems and have ridden quite a few full size adults in mine....

Hello to one and all!
I thank you for your thoughts and commentaries. Please know, even though this was my first thread on this forum, I was not trying in any manner to be arrogant. Expressive, perhaps. So, my apologies if this is how it sounded to you and that I upset you. A short history: I am a seasoned driver, having owned numerous cars and having begun driving when I was 9 1/2 years old. Also, I have road raced formula cars--Formula Ford and Formula Atlantic on the West coast. This is not to brag, for I'm sure many of you have done much more than me in the arena of motorsports. Finally, I still ride my old '93 Ducati 900SS and '09 H-D VROD. The passion for driving is in the blood (oil). My critique was to possibly inspire GM, as I have long wanted to own a Vette but could not get past the interior. (When I owned a '95 Mustang GT, I ended-up changing many things in the interior [especially the seats--I swapped them out for a set of Sparcos], suspension & engine.. I even wrote to Ford to try and wake them up. No go...) To me, the SS is a new, inspiring design with a terrific engine and advanced engineering. It is what I'm hoping for in a muscle-car and I am looking forward to test-driving one w/a manual transmission in the not-to-distant future. Again, my thanks to everyone for your constructive commentary. May this note find you and your families in great health and spirits. Best Regards |

I disagree with almost all 8 points. I think the interior is tastefully retro, without being "cartoony". It is also quite ergonomic, with everything easily reachable and easily operable. It is also quite comfortable, and I don't feel it's short on headroom at all. And I'm 6 foot.

I too love the car - inside & out! I didn't want to get out the first time I sat in one on the showroom floor - that was AFTER I already ordered it!
![]() I like the dash trim, especially with the full ABL mod done to it. I do prefer the fully adjustable passenger seat as my GF is shorter than I am and so are other people who like to look out. If GM puts that into an '11 model, my GF already said that's something she would like to have. Great car! Keep sellin' em GM! ![]() Oh, I love the Vette interior and so wish I could have bought at least the Z06!! Sat in a couple now and I regret every time I do ;( maybe 4 more years... I'm on the smaller side and the Camaro seat is too big and I can't sit still with aggressive driving The Vette seat just cradled me in...ooohhh...ok, back to my Baby!!

After having sat in many aircraft the interior is "cockpit like" which I believe was intended and I, for one, love it. The interior in no way seems cheap to me, it fulfills its purpose. If I had wanted a luxury car I would have bought one. You must remember that the interior contributes to weight. I am sure that GM did their best to provide look, styling and safety without unduly adding weight. If you really want windows you could buy a Pacer if you remember them.
