I went with No. AWD's just another expence when it breaks down, extra weight and cost. Besides mine will hardly ever be out in the rain or bad weather, that's what my trucks gonna be for.

NO..NO..NO...I won't be driving it in the rain and I won't be driving it in the snow. To beat a dead horse, too much additional weight and cost.

I wouldn't walk AWD in the Camaro. It is just supposed to have that RWD driving character. Period. However, I'd love to see the next gen Delta platform be AWD capable so Pontiac could build a WRX/Evo fighter.

Forget weight, forget drivability in the snow or rain...In my personal opinion the Camaro shouldn't be offered with anything but RWD! The Camaro's legacy is as a RWD musclecar!
Back when the 4th Gen was in the conception stage a FWD program was planned for the Camaro! How would everyone have liked that?? Not very much, right?? That would have sucked!!! Thank God that GM shoveled tons of money into the Saturn brand...there was no money left to put towards a FWD program. That AND the fact that Ford's attempt at a FWD Mustang crashed and burned!! Anyway, they also knew that the Camaro is deeply rooted in RWD performance...I can't see a Camaro being AWD...let GM develop a hot-hatch to chase after the rally cars...Hmm...I'm not trying to be too close minded...The Camaro's always been RWD...and I hope it stays that way! Personally, my Camaro...unless it's too expensive to drive a ton...will be my daily driver, rain, snow, whatever...(but it will always remained garaged). I actually have a fun time driving in the snow...(but I hate driving in the rain, just because) and while I have fun...I'm very careful. My RWD Camaro hasn't failed me yet in 6 years and I'm still accident free, not to mention I've never gotten stuck...sooooooooooo long story short >>>> RWD for me...keep them rear wheels smokin'

I'm right there with you...I'll go a little further and say that even when I see any "Charger" I'd like to barf...Dodge didn't do the Charger nameplate justice by slapping it on that 4-door...I think that the SRT-8 version looks pretty freakin' good...but it shouldn't be called Charger. This is a Charger: ![]() Sorry...back on topic!

I’m a purest also...but I want to be "bigger and bad-der" than the next guy.
All I can say is "adapt or die". You can say AWD would tarnish the Camaro's image. But times are changing, and the face of street drags has changed also. The streets are packed with competition from around the world…not just the big 3 anymore…we need to tip the balance of power pack in our favor. Like any good idea…a better idea is around the corner. They have Turbo were Supercharged, they have high revving 4 bangers, we have heart pounding V8 horse power…they have AWD we have Traction Control. Keep in mind the "NEW" Caramo is a "Retro" design that was influence by the F22 Raptor, which (if you don’t already know) is the most technically advanced fighter in the world. Using technologies far beyond past fighter planes, including Speed, Stealth, and weapons systems. So I Ask you, why can’t the Camaro be the newest, most highly advance muscle car in the world today, while still maintaining it heritage? We have an opportunity to do something special…let’s not get caught in the past! At least give us the option. As a great man once said “I have a dream” And this is mine. I just want to know! When I’m at that stop light…and that EVO is next to me...that EVO (or whatever) doesn’t stand a chance in hell!!!! Regardless what they have under the hood. I’ll just glance over nood my head… rev my 500+hp Supercharged/AWD LS3 V8 then when the light turns green… leave them standing still. Or by chance…( cuz I know they’d be scared to try ) it happens to be a rustang or challenger, I’ll leave it RWD, stand on the breaks, smoke the rear tires and dust them off the line. Just like the good o’l days “Retro style” Choir can I get an AMEN! That’s my dream. |

...Price rules here...In this case, you can't have your cake and eat it too. It is impossible to give the "newest, most highly advanced" tech while maintaining a "similarly equipped Mustang" price. See, price is a part of the Camaro's heritage as well! Affordable performance is something that Camaro has always lived by (with the acception of the '02 ZL1s). A system that is able to be turned off and on by a switch isn't something that we will see at an affordable price. The Camaro is a musclecar (sports car, whatever you want to call it) for the masses and the Camaro's price is what does that...or what it will hopefully do. But here's to your dream And honestly...I think you'll be fine against that EVO/STI/etc. without AWD

I don't see why everyone is complaining about the Charger name on a 4-door sedan. I mean, all the classic muscle cars were mid-size family cars, just with really powerful engines. There was a bigger market for 2 door family sedans in the 60s and 70s than now, but besides an extra set of doors nothing fundamental has changed.

Although AWD wouldn't be bad for better traction, etc., it just won't happen. Like Omega said, price is the key factor here...along w/ weight. It isn't bad to dream. But, if you want the Camaro built again, it's going to have to compete....and all that extra weight and price WILL put it well beyond the price range of the competition. Nice to dream, but won't happen.

I think it would make sense to at least make it an option, BMW has their x-drive AWD on a lot of thei models, the EVO has awd, the list goes on. Making it an option will make everyone happy...dont want it, dont get it
