I don't regret it at all. I likely could have afforded the V8, but it would have cut deeply into my other hobbies between gas, insurance, and a larger payment. I don't have any vices that I particularly want to give up in exchange for a V8.

I cant say i regret it. Cause i cant afford it right now. An Extra atleast 10k price tag would have put my payments way over what i wanted them to be. Well, i cant say i CANT afford it cause i make plenty of money. But if i would have gotten it, i would have been taking money away from my family that goes to having fun. So it would have been very selfish of me to get the SS.

Im happy with my 6. Would i get the V8 instead if money didnt matter? Hell yea i would.

Seems like many of the people 2nd guessing the V6 are doing so not because they are unhappy with the performance, but because when people ask, they cant SAY it's a V8.

I suppose that makes sense since most people would be stating the size/power of the engine more than actually utilizing it in real world driving. (obviously people who do track events are in a different scenario)

happy w/ the V6, especially when driving by gas pumps. The more I mod it, the better it gets...

Here's my story...My wife's Envoy was at the end of it's lease and I politely asked if she took my oh so cool Impala would it be possible for me to get the Camaro for my 40th birthday present. She agreed so off we went to SUN Auto in Bohemia(Great people there) When I went there my intentions were to get a Black SS with auto transmission. They had several in the showroom for me to drool over, BUT there in the back corner was one lone Rally Yellow with black stripes screaming, "Dude, forget those cars...look at me!" I walked over and when I saw that it was the Transformers Edition it didn't matter one bit to me if it was the V6 or the V8...It was Bumblebee and being the fanatical diehard child I am I went back to Rita, the salesperson, and said, "That's the one I want." I got a rather perplexed look from her and just to verify with me she said,"You know that's the V6?" To which I replied, "No. It's Bumblebee and that's good enough for me." I had a '96 V6 camaro and was so happy with that engine I figured how could I possibly be dissappointed with the 304 HP rating for this V6. It was a no brainer for me that I would be able to get my butt into the car I dreamed of ever since Sam Witwicky uttered a short, but immortal, "What?!" upon seeing the Gen5 camaro Bumblebee for the first time.

I have the V6, I drive the V6, I love the V6 and have NO REGRETS.:w00t :

Whew...I think I'll go for a drive now.

I got the v6 because it is the best of both worlds. I had a friend call it a "sissy car", even though you called it "s**t hot". Well, when he was ragging on it, i got to a red light and showed him what this "sissy car" can do. Lets just say, by the time we got to where we going, it isn't a "sissy car" anymore.

Besides convincing those who don't understand that the v-6 isn't what they use to be, the gas mileage is amazing! for a sports car. I am very happy with what i got, no regrets and will not get rid of it until i have to. Even then, it may get a makeover instead of leaving me.

Notta, zippo, I love my V6. If I were to do it all over again I would buy another V6

No, It's still the most powerful engine I've owned. (I hit the car market during the era when a 400cu.in. engine had 185hp and Corvettes had 220hp)

Exactly. My 82 Z28 had 165 HP.

I don't regret it at all! I'll take the extra money I would spend on an SS and invest it. Thanks!

In all seriousness, this isn't the sissy V6 people are used to. People love my car. I get stopped all the time. When they ask what kind of engine it has, I proudly say, "The V6 with 312 horsepower!"

They usually grin, and so do I.

I don't regret buying the v6 at all. Ive had it for about a month now and it still has the wow factor when I get on it a bit. Granted before this I was driving an 06 civic si. I definitely don't miss waiting for the vtech to kick in. Also, I knew my limitations. I could have bought the v8, but with all that extra power I would've been way to tempted to use it.

I had many people tell me that I *had* to get a v8.
"The v8 will be more valuable"
"no v8 = fail"
"You've gotta get the v8"

I knew the 2LT RS was right for me, as the reason for getting this car was to drive it, not keep it as a garage queen and then try and sell it for what I paid for it 30 years later. I'm also not going to be taking it to the track.

I've rode in a 2SS, and while you could tell there was more muscle than the v6. The v6 still performs great, and is more than enough for me!

Oh and I also drive it in the snow, rain, and down dirt roads!

Its worth noting also that the V6 does handle a bit better thanks to the lighter weight engine up front.
