The Z would be on run flats.

While the 2011 GT500 is on specially designed "supercar" tires. First vehicle they will be on and was designed with SVT in collaboration.

Put a tire on the Z and it will walk off from the GT500.

But that is an amazing improvement from last year and amazing times around VIR.

No not the tires the 2011 will have with the SVT package. The 2011 GT500 will be the first car to come with those tires on it.

The differance is the size. The 2011 svt package has 20's on the rear instead of 19's and a differant tread compound. You are right in that reguard. I thought you meant that the 2010 didn't have the super car tires at all.

right home about... lol.

the 2010 GT500 does not have tires that belong on a supercar, it has tires that are named supercar tires. the tires themselves are not very good. the 2011 GT500 is getting all new super duper tires as part of the SVT package.

remember during the lighting lap that simply switching the tires accounted for a 5 second improvement on the 2010 GT's lap time. with that knowledge some people could infer that the GT500 Conv directly behind the 2011 GT500 could have MUCH better tires than what came with the stock car, allowing an awesome lap time.

i hate when responses are made while im typing.......disregard my first paragraph

That's good because were not talking about cobras. Were're talking about GT500s and your not going beat one running in the mid 13's. If you don't have something constructive to add to the topic then piss off.

Who cares it's still a cheesy car that looks like it came from a pepboys catalog. The Vette still beats it. The Z28 will be all over the slobra and Giant Turd ,again.

Well, I guess it's time for me to bow out of this thread. I was having fun chating with you mustang guys until A-holes like this started coming out of the wood work. You would think they would be smart enough to know that's it's good to learn from your competition. I own a 2010 camaro SS ,but I totally respect the GT500 for what it is. A great car. I feel good enough about myself that I don't have to run down the competition. I just look for way to beat them.
