Sounds more like a driver issue than a car issue.

I just can't buy your times with just a CAI, I mean the SS is marketed at 13s, The SRT8 is not even marketed at 13s, and your telling me the same car with less horses and a CAI is the same speed as most SS. I mean really

He's probably a pretty good driver and knows how to launch. Also the track he goes to is probably good I'm sure he will chime in.

I'm just saying, He is essentially saying an R/T with a CAI is faster then an STR8 Stock

I guess that's just another reason not to buy an srt8!

Srt8s are heavier and are not any faster in the 1/4 mile than rt's, especially because r/t's are also underrated and are thought to be around 390hp. So, Viper's car is probably at over 400hp to the crank, and is lighter than the srt8, so it makes sense

Wow, this race wont even be close. I have a Challenger R/T as well as my Camaro SS and the Challenger R/T really has some cajones. Granite I have done some small bolt-on upgrades to it but even before that it really picked up and moved. Its not as fast as my SS but still really fast

You do realize the srt8 is 426hp and 400 torque and is not that much heavier?

R/T's are putting down similar dyno numbers as the L99's.

That's fine. They can't keep up in any way, shape or form though.

How much heavier is a SRT-8 than a R/T? It's going to have to be a big difference to make up for the relatively large gap between the two's torque and horsepower.

Not enough to overturn a ~50HP disadvantage, unless the R/T is drastically underrated.
