Hey Any,

I'm not trying to sound like an @$$, but isn't there another Maggy car around here making that same power without the nitrous?... In all seriousness - I'm not trying to take anything away
I am not aware,There probably is by now.

I know you not!

You build an LSx more to support that level of power than make it.
The factory block has its limits 1000rwhp through an auto is definately pushing the limit on the factory block...It won't last long..
Thats what the LSx is made for

While the LS3 is a great block and can handle some power I would never want to put over 1200FWHP through it. The LSX block is capable for 2000hp. You always want a safety margin for cushion. I dont know about the owner of this car but I dont have the money to do a motor combo like that making that much power and just HOPE it holds together. Believe me at that power level he would do alot of hopeing and praying a stock LS3 block would live. It would for sure be on borrowed time. Not to mention LS7 or LSX six bolt heads flow way more than anything offered by a LS3 casting so its easier to make power with them. The Ls3 heads and block dont have the 6 bolt clamping force either so you could very well lift the heads at high boost. He did it just the way I would have and I give him 2 thumbs up.

I think I understand what SSTony is saying and it has nothing to do with making 1000whp with a LS3. Everyone knows you can't make a LS3 live at those power levels. With no disrespect to Brooks (your car is just amazing), how can you say you have the fastest 2010 Camaro in the world when you're basically running just a 2010 chasis. I think Tony's point was, if you want to claim to be the fastest 2010 Camaro, you should at least use the same engine. If you took the engine out, bored the hell out of it and made it bulletproof, you'd still be running the LS3 block. When NHRA starts running Camaro bodies, do they then have the fastest Camaro in the world? It in no way diminishes the fact that Brooks has a sweet car and is fast as shit. I know this is what's needed to make the RELIABLE HP that Brooks wants but that isn't the point. I guess the question should be, when does a 10 Camaro stop being a 10 Camaro and becomes just a chasis. I believe this will be the future debate as people start making more and more HP from these cars. The reliable limit of the stock engine appears to be in the 650whp range. Do we even know what the limits of a forged bottom ended LS3 block are?

I don't think of it as NOT being impressed with your numbers. Hell 1000+whp is a impressive number for just about anything. I think it would make the masses much more excited to see someone do it with the OEM block and heads. Even if you changed all the rotating parts out, bored, and ported everything, it would still be a 10 Camaro engine. Does that make sense?

I like your logic, Axis. You always come with sound logic.

At the same time, as I've said before, TS, you have a cool car!!!

I have more and more respect for Pro Chargers every day. They just make such clean power.

Just like other power adders - everyone has its own unique characteristics, and for gobs of mid-to-high rpm power, Prochargers can crank.

I know what your saying... But even tho it has an LSx YES it is still a 5th Gen camaro and the fastest to date... Right from the begining we had the option of an LS3 or L99.. So just like we run whatever power adders that we prefer we can also choose the block... Are we going to start saying its not considered the fastest 10 camaro because it doesn't have the original Tranny or rearend or suspension??? Not trying to start a war Just saying..

axis that is exactly what I was trying to say but you said it better. I think his camaro is F@$ing sick but its not the original engine. that is all i was saying.

so where do you draw the line. I think if i pulled out my engine I would for sure drop a big block in there.

That is certainly your opinion but like I said before, where do we draw the line? I honestly don't know where the line should drawn or even if it should be drawn but I can assure you it will come up again. By your response, I could put a BBC in and it would still be a 10 Camaro. Even Brooks made that differencial so I assume he doesn't consider a BBC in a 10 Camaro as a legitamit 10 Camaro. Yes we had the option for two motors but they were offered by GM in OEM form. A 427 LSX motor wasn't on the option list I looked at. I've yet to see a shop list a complete short or long block as a power adder. This is also why most places list the times as NA, FI'd or nitrous. It just adds a asterics to your times. I too don't want to start a war as we can all appreciate what Brooks has done. I'm in no way trying to diminish that.

But say even if you kept the ls3 block in the car and added some sort of power adder? wouldnt adding a supercharger or turbo make it different than what GM had the car come with? would it still be a true 2010 Camaro? In my mind it would be. I guess in some one elses it might not. This is were the line starts to become real grey and fuzzy and is exactly how racing classes are made and rules followed. In a way it all comes down to opinion until a governing body votes and rules are made. IMO a LS based motor in a 2010 Camaro is still a Camaro. Just like the 4th gens the 5th gens are going to have all types of subtitles. Fastest NA in the world. Fastest stock shortblock in the world. Fastest stock shortblock NA in the world and the list goes on and on but right now he can say fastest in the world period. Maybe later he will have to say fastest LS based motor with stock rear end type and trans type. lol
