Oil at 1,500 miles
Trans and Rear End oil to synthetic at 1,500

Next one will be around 7,500 - 8,000
how much do you drive the car? I ask because I had 500 miles on my car in 3 days.... 1500 miles in less than 2 weeks... you see what I am getting at?

My thoughts exactly. ( I do all my own work)

First oil change at 750 miles. Dump the dino oil and any metal shavings.

Second oil change coming soon. Will be every 5,000 miles (rotate the tires at that time this keeps everything simple, when changing oil rotate tires.)

Rear end fluid changed to synthetic at 2300 miles. Dump the dino oil and any metal shavings.

Perhaps I missed this somewhere, but after rereading the thread, do the V-8s come from the factory with Mobil 1 in it and the V-6s come from the factory with dino oil? Or do the both come with dino oil and then switch to synthetic after the first oil change?

I know the V-8's come with Mobil1 from the factory, don't know about the V-6's.

Check your oil filler cap, mine says Mobil One. Not sure about the V-6. My first three oil changes are on the dealers nickel, he said bring it in for the first around 3000 mi, I did. I am going by the oil monitor, I now have 9600 mi on the car and reading 26% oil life left. I will most likely change it at about 5-10%, I am somewhat "old school" but believe one must change with the times. GM didn't spend millions of $ in testing and design for nothing, and there is always a safety factor built in to any engineering limit. They would not be willing to warr our engines for 100000 mi if they didn't trust the oil monitor. Trucking companies use syn oil and extended oil change periods and get 3-400000 mi between rebuilds.

Changed mine first around 500 and again at 1500. Will go to normal intervals now.

Actually, I had the dealer change it at about 2k miles (after 1 week of owning). It was the drive back from Carlisle that put all the miles on it. Yes, IMO, it made a big difference.

Correct V-8's come with Mobil 1. V-6's come with dino. Many switch over to Mobil 1 at the first oil change.

The oil fill cap is different on the two Camaros. V-8's say Mobile 1. V-6's do not. Some are buying a cap that does say Mobil 1.
