You have to look at the bright side. Based on the many paint chip complaints, you probably would have had to get the front repainted anyway. And remember, for at least the next few months, you own his ass. Just trying to cheer you up.

He had to have his starter replaced, so yea, it wouldn't start. The one thing I didn't think of, now I get to deal with a p1ssed off wife. I have a claim established with my insurance company, so I'll get an update Monday or Tuesday.

More updates to come. Thanks guys!

Is this dude like your best bud or something? If not king his d!ck in the dirt for disrespecting you like that.

But hey sometimes when you ask for favors there is a price to pay. But damn thats one hellava price partner.

He's given me his policy number so I'll see what I can do when I talk to my claims adjuster on Monday or Tuesday.

He is my best friend, I've know him since I was 7 (26 years for those of you who are counting) and I was the best man at his wedding....so yea, we're pretty close.

Just because he's YOUR best friend doesn't mean YOU are HIS best friend. That is a hard lesson to learn but it happens a lot with best friends. How many times have you heard of a best friend getting with a friend's wife. You really never know what your BEST FRIEND is thinking. Sometimes they become jealous. I don't think YOU are this guy's BEST FRIEND. There's just no respect from him. Time to distance yourself from this guy for ever. People change. YOUR TURN NOW.

Unless the laws have changed in Texas, this is what happened with my son... He was driving a friends truck, fell asleep and totaled the truck... Our insurance ended up paying for the truck. When I asked about that, the agent told me that even if the owners insurance had paid for it, they would subrogate to our insurance and so we would pay for it anyway... we were driving so we were responsible. Hopefully, your "friend" is insured...

We had to drop our son from our insurance and get him a higher dollar policy or we would have lost ours as well...

Thats what I was thinking...my best friend has a 2009 G37 and he asked me if I wanted to take it for a drive and I said no just cuz I didn't want to take the chance and I had asked him the same and he said no also...I think your friend lied about his car not starting...

That's awful. Things like this destroy friendships, but to be honest, the friend went behind your back, and that's not friendly

Unfortunately, the carfax report will never go away on the car. I'm with Berean.

Hopefully I'll be able to subrogate against his insurance. I have a claim setup with my insurance so more to come.

I may end up selling it once it gets fixed. I was going to keep this car forever, but now it has too many bad memories.

Thanks for all the responses! I'll update when I hear something.

Update: Spoke with the insurance adjuster and it looks like this is going on my insurance....yea, higher premiums! D@mnit!

Now I'm in tow truck hell. I've had to cancel two different tow trucks since no one will send out a flatbell truck. How difficult is it to understand, "Do not send out a regular wrecker, I want a flatbed tow truck"?

The saga continues....
