Andy @ ADM Performance has done a 1000HP build. I think you should buy an SS and let Andy work his magic.. I have a 600RWHP daily driver and absolutely love it..

With the GS you get the look of the Z06 with the targa top and probably more power than most people will ever need. Best of both worlds IMHO.
A grand sport less than invoice is even better - lets you add mods

It is a tough question, but it really depends on what you want for yourself. Will you be happy with an SS and 426HP? Or do you want a supercharged car with 500+ HP? It all depends if this is going to be a weekend warrior or stop and go daily driver. You will probably get as many different opinions on this site as there are members. The members that suggested take your time and study all of your options are correct. Before you spend 60K on a car, make an educated decision. Study all of the options and what the different tuners have to offer.

For myself,I have opted to wait for the Z/28 but it is more to fulfill personal quests than to pick one car or tuner over another. But waiting for a Z/28 is not for the faint of heart and the impatient. I am still not expecting the Z/28 to arrive before Dec. 2011 and have no confirmed idea of what the car will actually be like.

If I had to pick a tuner car my choices would be:
1. - SLP = Good reputation, great looks with hood and spoiler, I am not crazy about the wheels though.
2. - Ligenfelter - Solid car with a great reputation, excellent build history.
3. - Hennessey - Almost as good as Ligenfelter

Good luck with your decision, I wish I had your problem.

60k is alot of money, Id save for a z28 but You can build a project car. Start off with a 2SS and the performance modifications are endless. An 25k to have fun with, you wont even need that much to make your camaro into a monster.

When I saw this topic a day or so ago, buy a Corvette, immediately entered my mind. That is still my opinion.

Take your highly modified Camaro in several years and see how much it is worth. You will lose a much higner percent of your cost on the Camaro than the Corvette, plus with a Corvette you will have a nice factory car with full warranty.

However it is your money and your call.

May I add some friendly advice too? It would be smart to invest the money and not blow it on a car. In a few years, you may be able to buy a bunch of camaros. Just food for thought.

For 60K don't buy a Camaro of any kind. Get a nice Zo6 or a really kick ass used sports car. Or better yet by a 69 camaro and another muscle car and fix them both up.

Damm, I hate people with money.

Please don't be Stupid. To spend the extra money on one of the performance enhanced cars is a waste of money of a few tenths of a second better. Look, when it is all said and done the Camaro is WAY WAY WAY too heavy.

Like others have said, WAIT a little while and see what evolves with this Z28 thing.

If you can't wait, pffft on the paltry SLP ZL575. 2011 has a ZL 585. Get that instead!
