This works, but if you're using a floor jack (or especially lowering onto jack stands) you need to put a piece of wood (i.e. 1"x4"x6") between the jack and the car to spread out the weight or the relatively soft metal will dent.

(not to bag on somebody but if you work at a tire store and the highest you got up the ladder is a tire installer, i might question your skill....at least he has a job and is out there trying!) The owner told me to check to see what damage there is and if something needs buffed, They would take care of it or whatever.....he said they would turn it into their insurance if needed. From what I can tell, nothing is totally out of what but there is an imprint into the plastic where the metal made contact with the painted partsw underneath. There are some parts where the paint is gone in very small spots but nothing major. I could be super anal about this and demand all new painted rockers........I could ask for the bill to be refunded (169 bucks for dismount/mount/roadforce balance). Any ideas? I dont want to be a complete tool but I picked a quality shop that is known for their good work and this is what happens....
Go to a good auto body shop, tell them what the tire shop did (show them the pic's on the lift), and ask for a written estimate for your car. You can present that to the tire shop and demand that it is fixed by the auto body shop for the price the auto body shop gives you. Most body shops do not charge for the written estimate. It will usually stand up in court, as that is what insurance companies base repair costs on as well.

BTW, what was the name of the shop and address so others on Camaro5 can stay clear of these jackasses?

From those two angles I can't see any damage. You need to take some not a direct shot, those aren't the best pics to be using.

I will get better pics tomorrow when it is up on the hoist (correctly) at the body shop. You can tell the distortion when looking at the one pic of the front passenger rocker.

They are the "Black Chrome" wheels!

Yes it was a real question not that the poster said b.s., but what was he calling b.s. He clarified and stated the way some people treat our cars...

Yes there are lift points on the car! I have put mine in the air 4 times now and I have always double checked to make sure the pucks were in the right place.

There is NO shame in asking questions. If the place I was jacking up had broken, the jack would have been slammed, with the weight of the car, under the motor. I jack up the entire front end, both wheels of the ground, using the one point. So I wanted to be DAMN sure it was a strong spot. lol
