Surely if Hugger Orange came out with the vert it would still be an option for the coupe at that time as well. I hope they tell us soon if that is the case, I may postpone my order till then.
If they said we could have Hugger Orange as an option now, but not to expect delivery till 3rd or early 4th quarter, since it would take time to get it up to quality and quantity, I would definitely be willing to wait. I would be willing to pay a premium for it as well.

A little known fact about true '69 Camaro Hugger Orange - This same exact color was used on Pontiacs back in 1969 but it was called "Carousel Red" when it was used on a Firebird etc. Same color formula as the Chevrolet color. The original color was actualy a lot "redder" than people's memory or the repainted cars you see today with so-called "Hugger Orange" on them.
The current formulas being mixed end up looking less "red" and are not 100% the same as the original color when converted to modern paint formulas. Most of the BC/CC versions of the original colors end up being a little bit off the mark.-Mark. |

mmmmmmmmm..................... Did anyone ever tell you that when you type with caps it means you're YELLING???????? (please take your Caps lock off.......as a courtesy to all.....) Now - >>>>>>>>>kiddies<<<<<<<<<< Let's all take a walk down memory lane, shall we? **insert old-time scratchy music from the 20s.....** Once upon a time the Camaro team said: "let there be Hugger Orange in the 1999 model year!!!" (in fact, we said "let there be hugger orange/bright gold/bright blue/bright purple/bright green in the 1997-1999 model years....but I'll come back to that in a moment.....) Anywhoo............we went to work with BASF (as I recall) to try and formulate "Hugger Orange" - Welllllllllllllll............... Let's go wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back to 1969............ ...........back when we used Acrylic Laquer paints......... Now: ...........some scientists will tell you that using those paints will >>>>eat your guts out!!!!<<<<< *insert woman's scream here* and soooooo.............we now use High Solids Waterborne paint .... That gave us a real challenge.......cuz Acrylic Paints allowed us to do more 'stuff' -- and gave us brighter colors in some cases.......... we worked and worked and worked and worked and worked........... And the Hugger Orange of 1999 actually looks like Hugger Orange ............ ...................at precisely ................................9:16am ....................................on September 14 -- .................................................. ..........if you're in Akron, Ohio............... COULD we finally get to Hugger Orange? Probably -- but most people still forget that Hugger Orange has zero metallic in it -- no pearl either -- and many of our enthusiasts feel that metallic and pearl make the lines of the Camaro 'pop'.............. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............... . Moral of the Story? Unlikely you'll see Hugger Orange............... The end Last edited by fbodfather; 11-11-2008 at 09:41 PM. |

Wait a second. Are we calling Inferno Orange Metallic sexually attracted to colors of the same gender?

I'm personally disapointed that Tennessee Orange isn't available.
