that back ens is what sold me on the kit. if i had to pick a part that i liked the least it would be the front but i think this kit just makes the whole car look so aggressive.

I like it, but would need it painted to match the body. I'll also bet on a better cheaper aftermarket kit later. I'd rather put the 2300 towards a maggie though.

It is GM certified and goes with the warantee of the car... isn't that better than aftermarket?

Why would you need a warranty on body parts? If it was a performance component then sure, I'd agree with you.

Holly Schnikeys! I missed that price!!! Youch!!! I might have to rethink ordering them when I can get my car. I think it looks good, especially after matching the color to the rest of the car, but that's a third of a supercharger that I might have to add, so... I might have to pass now. I think it looks great, but man.

My rationale for buying the ground effects is that it further adds to the Camaro's sheer badassery.
Off-topic, but I'm sorry; that's still funny everytime I read it, LOL!!!

Well, you said it first, but that's exactly what I'm thinkin'. Add another several hundred bucks if you have to paint them :(

plus its probably poly eurethane and most aftermarket are fierglass. fiberglass would bust the first bottom out you have.

why do you need a warranty on anything then that isnt powertrain?
because things break. plastic pins may bust and the bumper may sag. what if the kit gets really hot and warps?

what if you buy the kit after you get your car? is it dealer installed? or should you just stick with ordering it. because i am still unsure about buying it.

i would assume that if it isnt dealer installed after your car comes in, then the price would be cheaper. i am going to wait to get mine until i can order it from the parts counter or whoever places these kinds of orders, because im paying invoice on my camaro and i can get parts at cost most of the time. thats why im gonna wait to get the wheels also. unless i see them on ebay cheaper.

Good point. I would imagine it would be hard to get a dealer to cover melted/broken body parts. I can already see the conversation in my head.

Gfx color matched

At the LA autoshow I asked the guy at the display if the gfx kit would be color matched and he said pretty confidently that it would be color matched, regardless what paint you get. I know theres the pics of it in the gray but where is the evidence that seems to make everybody believe it won't be matched

Unless GM changes something, the gfx kit is coming in one color - dark argent metallic. You'll have to get your dealer to paint it before delivery if you want it color-matched.

Here's a quote directly out of the 2010 Camaro Initial Ordering Workbook:

Quote:
Ground Effects (RPO Code VTD)
Enhance the bold styling of your new Camaro with the
Ground Effects Package. This contains a front splitter,
side rockers and a rear diffuser with integrated exhaust
bezels. Available in Dark Argent metallic.

High Wing Spoiler (RPO Code 5V5)
Add to the aggressive styling of the Camaro with a raceinspired,
high-profile spoiler. Available in select colors on
select models.

It's nice, and even though the price is a little steep I might still get it. I have a connection that makes carbon fiber parts and I could take them this gfx kit and have them make a CF one. For the front and rear anyway, the side skirts can stay the color of my car.
