Your car is looking better and better. Nice job on the install for the vents. Can't wait to see what it looks like installed on the car.

Eventually, I hope to fab a dedicated intake for the ProCharger intake. That should really help the IATs.

Awesome man! Only thing I would do is get rid of the underhood insulation and get the underside of the hood painted.

I'm thinking the underhood insulation keeps paint on the hood from melting.

More pics in a minute.

Final part of the install went great. Splash shields attached and tested (washed the car). I reinstalled the hood myself and aligned it perfectly second try.

And I think the Matte Black goes great with the Black/Inferno Orange.

All in all, happy. Just gotta hit the track to see how it helps.

This is a common misconception. Many cars come w/ no underhood insulation. The Ram air Trans Ams, 4th gen Camaro`s and others, not to mention a lot of the guys who build old muscle cars remove it and paint the underside of the hood and add chrome and other stuff to make it pretty. Plus i work as an Auto Insurance Adjuster and see all of this first hand. Nothing to worry about. Your paint will not melt...lol.. Its actually there to retain the heat in the engine bay to help the car warm up more quicly in cold climates, and for some sound deadening effect, not to mention if there ws a fire under the hood.

Regardless, if you keep the insulation or not you did a hell of a job!

Ah, that's good to know. Of course, my insulation is now covering up the butchery I did to the metal underneath the hood.

Yeah, if it was that hot under there the paint on the engine covers would melt off first as they are right on top of the motor..lol..

I`m suprised the hood looks butchered underneath, everything I`ve see you do so far looks top notch buddy!

Went to Steele yesterday to get ready for the LSX Challenge at the Atlanta Dragway in two weeks.

My plan for that event is to run an 11.0 index, so I wasn't out to set records today, but to work on consistency and see what makes the car faster or slower.

So, first run, right out of the box, I ran an 11.000.

Mission Accomplished. So I just relaxed and enjoyed the day:

I love the new vents. 85* ambient day. Between runs, I would turn on my electric water pump and the fans, with the motor off, and engine coolant temps would drop from 190*+ to 165* in the space of a song. Literally. And, as usual, when I staged, it would be at a perfect 180*.

Initial IAT's loo good, but I don't have any precise numbers.

But look at it this way:

In Commerce last month, where I ran a 10.953 @ 125.60 w/ a 1.641. That was at 1500 feet DA.

Yesterday in Steele, I ran a 10.867 @ 126.20 w/ a 1.535. That was at 2500 feet DA.

Both times were at full weight. In better DA and removing the passenger seat, I believe I could be at sub 10.7's.

So, the car just gets faster and faster. It really loves going fast. And so do I.

Here's a video:

(Note the distortion in the video - that's YouTube's attempt to make it less shaky. It makes the car look like it's going into Warp. )

More videos later.
